Job Description – Data Centre Rack, Cabling & Physical Infrastructure Design Engineer

Education background: Electrical & / Electronics Engineering / ECE/ CSE

Experience: 5 to 15 years

Industry: Data Center / Electrical Projects

Location: India (Remote or Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities
- Have positive understanding and expertise on GPU’s, Racks, designing elevation of racks, rack stack power cable implementation, deployment experience in high-density or cloud environments, GPU structures, Servers, network switches, leaf and spline, placement of servers, network, labelling cables, cable matrix and power consumption, addition of racks, Architecture diagrams,
Working familiarity with GPU server topologies (NVIDIA GB 300 and B300, or custom high-density AI servers).
Define cable routing, cable lengths, cable types and cable identification/colour coding, able labelling schemes and cable IDs. Exposure to various cables (DAC/AOC cables, fibre, Cat6A, console, power cables, patch cords)
Design equipment connections, electrical-network cable routing, electrical and rack layouts.



Prepare layouts that consists of panels, cabinets, switchgear, UPS, PDU and other electrical equipment.
Review equipment specifications and interface requirements, Validate rack space, power, cooling and connectivity requirements, Resolve design clashes and connectivity issues, Support installation and commissioning teams with engineering clarifications.
Engineering Documentation: includes Rack elevation drawings, Equipment allocation drawings, Cabling topology diagrams, Point-to-point cable schedules, cable matrix, BOM, Rack-wise material schedules, Network connectivity documentation and As-built documentation
Coordinate electrical layouts with civil, structural, mechanical , Data Centre Architects, MEP engineers, Network Engineers and IT/Infrastructure teams.

Required Skills
- Valuable knowledge of AutoCAD, Visio
Knowledge of Revit/Navisworks or 3D design tools is an advantage.
Data center experience is preferred.
Valuable communication and coordination skills.
