Senior SAP BASIS Engineer — S/4HANA Public & Private Cloud Configuration
Role:
We are looking for a seasoned SAP BASIS Engineer to join the Business AI Platform (BAIP) team. You will own the backend configuration and operations of S/4HANA Public Cloud and Private Cloud Edition environments that serve as the backbone for SAP's AI assistants. This is a senior hands-on role requiring proven deep expertise across both S/4HANA deployment models.
Responsibility:
Own and drive end-to-end configuration of S/4HANA PUC and PCE systems across multiple landscape tiers
Design, set up, and maintain communication arrangements for API and service connectivity
Install and configure addons on top of PCE
Configure RFC destinations, SCOT settings, and workflow system parameters
Plan, execute, and manage add-on installations across PUC and PCE systems
Apply and validate SAP Notes and support packages as required
Own authorization management — role design and assignment, authorization object configuration
Perform system refreshes and data copies across landscape tiers
Act as the escalation point for complex backend change requests under tight release timelines
Key Responsibilities
Expertise:
5+ years of SAP BASIS administration experience
Proven deep expertise with S/4HANA Public Cloud (PUC) — tenant configuration, communication arrangement setup, system provisioning at scale
Extensive hands-on experience with S/4HANA Private Cloud Edition (PCE 2023/2025) — add-on installation, SAP Note application, authorization management, complex system configuration
Mandatory: proven track record of end-to-end add-on installations on both PUC and PCE settings including dependency analysis, pre-checks, and post-installation validation
Expert-level knowledge of RFC destinations, SCOT/email configuration, and workflow administration
Solid command of SAP authorization concepts — role design, profile management, object-level authorization assignment
Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex configuration requests under hard release deadlines
Robust communication skills across distributed teams
Skill Requirements
Nice to Have
Experience with SIX data copy procedures and system refresh processes
