Key Responsibilities
Decontamination: Collects and washes contaminated tools using manual methods, ultrasonic cleaners, and washer-disinfectors. [1, 2, 3]
Inspection & Assembly: Inspects instruments for damage or wear, and arranges them into exact sets or trays for specific surgical procedures. [1, 2, 3]
Sterilization: Operates and monitors sterilization equipment like steam autoclaves and gas sterilizers according to safety rules. [1, 2, 3]
Quality Control & Documentation: Runs biological and chemical tests, logs cycle results, and labels items to ensure full traceability. [1, 2, 3]
Storage & Distribution: Stores sterile packages in controlled settings and distributes them back to operating rooms, emergency units, and wards
