Looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day bookkeeping and support our UK financial operations. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of UK accounting, VAT, and CIS and be comfortable working independently in a remote workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time
Prepare and file CIS returns in compliance with UK regulations
Take ownership of month-end closing activities
Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and general ledgers
Perform bank and account reconciliations
Ensure compliance with applicable UK accounting standards and regulations
Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records
Requirements
2–4 years of hands-on UK bookkeeping experience
Solid knowledge of UK VAT and CIS regulations
Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software
Solid analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Comfortable working in a remote environment
