- Operate conventional lathe machines for machining components.
- Perform turning, facing, drilling, boring, threading, grooving, taper turning and chamfering operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, job cards and machining specifications.
- Select and set appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, speeds, feeds and depth of cut.
- Properly mount and align jobs using chucks, centres, fixtures and other work-holding devices.
- Check component dimensions using Vernier caliper, micrometer, bore gauge, dial gauge and other measuring instruments.
- Ensure components are manufactured within specified dimensions and tolerances.
Experience:
- 5-6 years of experience as a Turner in a manufacturing / engineering industry.
- Experience in conventional lathe machining is preferred.
