- Design fire suppression systems — hydrants, sprinklers, standpipes, hose reels, clean agent systems, water mist, foam, kitchen hood suppression.
- Perform hydraulic calculations for hydrant and sprinkler networks.
- Size pumps, tanks, valves, and system components as per fire load and building type.
- Plan fire compartmentation, smoke control, pressurization systems, and evacuation routes.
- Integrate fire systems with building automation, access control, lifts, HVAC, and electrical.
Technical Calculations & Engineering Work
- Fire water demand calculation based on occupancy.
- Pump head, flow, and tank sizing calculations.
- Smoke ventilation and pressurization calculations.
- Battery capacity calculations for alarm systems.
- Fire load and risk assessment.
- Zone planning, sound pressure level calculations, and cause–effect matrix development.
Documentation & Drawings
- Prepare Design Basis Report (DBR) for fire protection and life safety.
- Prepare single-line diagrams, system schematics, floor wise layouts, and detailing.
- Develop BOQs, technical specifications, tender documents.
- Create cause–effect matrix and sequence of operations.
- Review contractor/shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements
Coordination & Execution Support
- Conduct fire safety audits and compliance inspections.
- Coordinate with architectural, MEP, and structural teams to ensure code-compliant design.
- Attend site meetings, resolve technical queries, and provide solutions to installation challenges.
- Inspect installation of fire pumps, hydrant network, sprinkler systems, alarm systems, and conduiting.
