Job Description – Modular Kitchen Designer
Position: Modular Kitchen Designer / Interior Designer
Department: Design & Sales
Industry: Modular Furniture / Modular Kitchen / Interior Solutions

Job Summary
We are looking for a creative and technically proficient Modular Kitchen Designer who can understand customer requirements, prepare functional kitchen layouts, create attractive 2D/3D designs, and develop accurate production-ready drawings.
The candidate should have solid knowledge of modular kitchen planning, ergonomics, materials, hardware, accessories, measurements, and manufacturing requirements. The role involves close coordination with customers, sales executives, site supervisors, production teams, and installation teams from initial concept through final execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet customers and understand their requirements, preferences, budget, available space, and functional needs.
- Conduct or verify accurate site measurements before finalizing designs.
- Prepare modular kitchen layouts including L-shape, U-shape, parallel, straight, island and peninsula kitchens.
- Develop detailed 2D layouts, elevations and 3D presentations/renders for customer approval.
- Plan base cabinets, wall cabinets, tall units, lofts, pantry units, corner units and appliance integration.
- Ensure proper placement of hob, chimney, sink, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, oven and other appliances.
- Apply kitchen ergonomics and appropriate work-triangle principles while planning layouts.
- Recommend suitable finishes, colour combinations, laminates, acrylic, PU, glass, shutters, countertops and backsplash options.
- Select appropriate kitchen hardware and accessories including hinges, drawer systems, tandem boxes, baskets, corner solutions and lift-up systems.
- Prepare detailed production/shop drawings with accurate dimensions.
- Prepare cutting details, cabinet/module specifications, hardware schedules and BOM (Bill of Materials) where required.
- Ensure designs are technically feasible and compatible with the company's manufacturing capabilities.
- Coordinate electrical, plumbing, gas, appliance and civil requirements with the customer/site team.
- Prepare quotations or provide design specifications and quantities to the estimation/sales team.
- Revise designs based on customer feedback and obtain final design approval.
- Coordinate with the production team to resolve drawing and manufacturing queries.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and installation teams to ensure execution according to approved drawings.
- Visit sites when required for measurements, design verification and installation-related issues.
- Maintain proper records of approved drawings, revisions, specifications and customer selections.
- Ensure projects meet agreed quality standards and delivery timelines.
Technical Skills Required
The candidate should have good working knowledge of:
- AutoCAD
- SketchUp
- 3ds Max / V-Ray / Enscape or similar rendering software
- KD Max / KitchenDraw / Winner / Cabinet Vision or similar modular kitchen software will be an advantage
- MS Excel and MS Office
- Modular cabinet construction
- Kitchen hardware and accessories
- Materials such as plywood, MDF, HDHMR, particle board, laminates, acrylic, veneer, glass and PU finishes
- Countertop materials including granite, quartz and solid surfaces
- Production and installation drawings
- Basic BOM and material estimation
Design Knowledge
The designer should understand:
- Standard modular kitchen dimensions
- Counter heights and depths
- Overhead cabinet planning
- Tall-unit and pantry planning
- Drawer and basket configurations
- Corner-space utilization
- Appliance clearances
- Kitchen ergonomics
- Electrical and plumbing coordination
- Ventilation and chimney requirements

- Contemporary kitchen design trends
Qualification
Preferred: Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Furniture Design or a related discipline.
Candidates with relevant modular kitchen industry experience and strong technical/design skills may also be considered.
Experience
Preferred: 2–5 years of experience in modular kitchens, modular furniture or interior design.
Experience in preparing both customer presentation drawings and production-ready technical drawings will be preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile
We are looking for a designer who combines creativity with manufacturing practicality. The candidate should be capable of taking a modular kitchen project from customer requirement → site measurement → space planning → 2D/3D design → material selection → technical drawings → production coordination → installation support.
Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
