The Security Manager is responsible for the comprehensive safety, security, and emergency preparedness of the property, its guests, and all staff. This role requires a highly disciplined leader who can maintain rigorous security standards while seamlessly integrating into the unobtrusive, guest-centric workplace of a luxury heritage hotel. The ideal candidate blends military precision with hospitality etiquette, ensuring asset protection, regulatory compliance, and a secure environment without compromising the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Security & Daily Operations
- Direct and oversee the daily operations of the property’s security personnel, including roster management, deployment, and performance evaluations.
- Monitor and manage access control systems, perimeter security, and CCTV surveillance networks across the property and waterfront access points.
- Conduct daily physical inspections of the premises to identify and mitigate potential security vulnerabilities or safety hazards.
- Develop, update, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all security protocols.
2. Staff Accommodation Management
- Oversee the daily administration, safety, and security of the employee accommodation facilities and staff quarters.
- Enforce accommodation rules, regulations, and disciplinary standards among all residing employees.
- Conduct regular inspections of the staff quarters to ensure hygiene, maintenance, and facility standards are consistently upheld.
- Manage room allocations, inventory handovers, key control, and mediate any disputes or grievances arising within the accommodation.
3. Emergency Response & Crisis Management
- Act as the primary incident commander for all property emergencies, including fire, medical crises, natural disasters, or security breaches.
- Lead the property’s Fire Safety management, ensuring all fire fighting equipment is operational and compliant with state regulations.
- Conduct regular emergency evacuation drills and fire safety training for all hotel staff.
4. Liaison & Compliance
- Cultivate and maintain strong, proactive relationships with local law enforcement, coastal police, fire departments, and other civic authorities in Fort Kochi.
- Ensure full compliance with all local and state statutory requirements pertaining to hotel security and safety operations.
- Manage VIP and high-profile guest security arrangements, coordinating with personal security details when necessary.
5. Investigations & Audits
- Conduct discreet internal investigations into incidents of theft, property damage, or employee misconduct, compiling detailed reports for HR and management.
- Perform regular security audits and risk assessments of the property.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Military Background (Mandatory): Must be Ex-Indian Army (Commissioned Officer, JCO, or NCO rank) with an Honorable Discharge.
- Industry Experience (Mandatory): Minimum of 5 years of post-military professional experience specifically within the hospitality sector or luxury hotel operations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military education credentials.
- Certifications: Valid training in advanced first aid, CPR, and fire safety management.
Pay: Up to ₹53,000.00 per month
