Position: Pathology Lab Technician

Pathology Lab Technician
Job Summary
A Pathology Lab Technician is responsible for conducting diagnostic tests on patient samples and providing accurate and timely results to healthcare professionals. They work in clinical laboratories, hospitals, diagnostic centers, and other healthcare settings to support medical diagnosis and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Sample Collection: Collect patient samples such as blood, urine, tissues, and other bodily fluids as required for diagnostic tests. Ensure proper labeling and documentation.
Sample Processing: Prepare and process collected samples for analysis, including centrifugation, separation, and preservation as needed.
Laboratory Testing: Perform a variety of laboratory tests using automated equipment and manual techniques. Common tests may include blood counts, urinalysis, chemistry panels, microbiological cultures, and molecular diagnostics.
Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks on laboratory equipment and reagents to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results. Document and address any deviations.
Data Entry: Record and maintain accurate records of test results, patient information, and laboratory procedures. Ensure confidentiality of patient data.
Instrument Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work workplace. Follow infection control practices to minimize the risk of contamination.
Communication: Collaborate with medical professionals, pathologists, and other healthcare staff to discuss test results, answer inquiries, and provide necessary information.
Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues with laboratory equipment and test procedures. Report and address technical problems promptly.
Inventory Management: Manage and monitor laboratory supplies and reagents. Place orders for supplies as needed to maintain inventory levels.
Continuing Education: Stay updated with advancements in laboratory technology, techniques, and regulations through continuing education and training.
Compliance: Adhere to all regulatory guidelines and standards, such as
CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) and
OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations.
Pay: ₹8,100.00 - ₹29,000.00 per month
