We are looking for a Sales Executive who can develop new business, maintain customer relationships, generate orders, and contribute directly to the company's sales growth.
JOB PURPOSE
The Sales Executive will be responsible for identifying potential customers, generating sales enquiries, meeting customers, understanding their requirements, preparing and following up on quotations, converting enquiries into orders, and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable with field sales, B2B selling, customer visits, telephone/WhatsApp follow-ups, quotation negotiation, and target-based sales.
This is a performance-oriented role where the Sales Executive will be expected to actively generate business rather than simply respond to incoming enquiries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead Generation & New Customer Acquisition
- Identify and approach potential B2B customers in the assigned territory.
- Develop new customer relationships through:
- Field visits
- Telephone calls
- WhatsApp
- Email
- References
- Existing customer networks
- Online enquiries
- Industry directories
- Contractor networks
- Industrial areas and markets
- Identify companies, contractors, factories, institutions, government vendors and other potential buyers.
- Build and maintain a database of prospective customers.
- Regularly follow up with prospects until the requirement is converted or closed.
2. Field Sales & Customer Visits
- Visit customers regularly to understand their requirements and develop business.
- Meet purchase managers, store managers, project managers, contractors, engineers and business owners.
- Conduct product presentations wherever required.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products.
- Identify opportunities for repeat and additional sales.
- Maintain a structured record of customer visits and outcomes.
The employee should be comfortable spending significant time in the field when required.
3. Product & Requirement Understanding
The Sales Executive will be expected to develop a working knowledge of the company's product portfolio.
This includes understanding:
- Product specifications
- Applications
- Sizes and variants
- Brands
- Availability
- Pricing
- Lead times
- Product alternatives
- Customer requirements
- Basic technical differences between products
The Sales Executive should be able to understand what the customer needs and coordinate internally to provide an appropriate product or solution.
Strong technical knowledge is not mandatory at the time of joining, but the candidate must have the ability and willingness to learn.
4. Enquiry & Quotation Management
- Receive and understand customer enquiries.
- Collect complete requirements from customers.
- Coordinate with the internal team for pricing and availability.
- Prepare or coordinate preparation of quotations.
- Send quotations to customers through WhatsApp/email/other approved channels.
- Follow up on every quotation systematically.
- Maintain records of pending quotations.
- Identify the reason when a quotation is not converted.
- Negotiate with customers within the company's approved pricing and commercial guidelines.
- Escalate special pricing or credit requirements to management when necessary.
5. Sales Conversion
The Sales Executive will be responsible for converting enquiries into actual orders.
Responsibilities include:
- Follow up on open enquiries.
- Understand customer objections.
- Negotiate commercially within approved limits.
- Coordinate product availability.
- Provide required information to customers.
- Close orders.
- Confirm order details before processing.
- Coordinate with the internal team for order execution.
- Ensure that customer commitments are communicated accurately.
6. Customer Relationship Management
- Develop long-term relationships with existing customers.
- Regularly contact important customers even when there is no immediate enquiry.
- Understand customer purchasing patterns.
- Identify upcoming requirements.
- Maintain customer satisfaction.
- Handle routine customer queries and coordinate with the appropriate internal department for resolution.
- Encourage repeat business.
- Identify opportunities to introduce additional products from the company's portfolio.
7. Cross-Selling & Up-Selling
The Sales Executive should actively identify additional sales opportunities.
For example:
A customer purchasing safety shoes may also require:
- Safety helmets
- Safety gloves
- Safety jackets
- Eye protection
- Other PPE
Similarly, a customer purchasing scaffolding material may have requirements for:
- Additional scaffolding components
- Accessories
- Lifting equipment
- Safety products
- Construction-related products
The objective is to increase the value of each customer relationship rather than selling only the product initially requested.
8. Market Development
- Study the local industrial and construction market.
- Identify new industries and customer segments.
- Identify major contractors and businesses operating in the territory.
- Track competitor activity and pricing trends.
- Report important market developments to management.
- Identify products that customers frequently request but are currently not available in the company's portfolio.
- Share customer feedback regarding products, pricing and service.
9. Sales Reporting & CRM Discipline
The Sales Executive must maintain accurate records of sales activities.
Daily/weekly information may include:
- Customers contacted
- Customer visits
- New leads generated
- New enquiries received
- Quotations issued
- Quotations pending
- Follow-ups completed
- Orders received
- Lost enquiries
- Expected orders
- Outstanding customer requirements
- Important customer feedback
The company may use digital systems, spreadsheets, CRM tools, WhatsApp or other software for maintaining sales information.
Every enquiry and important customer interaction should be properly recorded.
10. Order Coordination
After receiving an order, the Sales Executive will coordinate with relevant internal teams regarding:
- Product availability
- Quantity
- Pricing
- Delivery requirements
- Dispatch
- Billing
- Customer documentation
- Payment terms
- Special instructions
The Sales Executive should ensure that the customer's requirement is communicated accurately and that there is no avoidable gap between sales and execution teams.
11. Payment Follow-Up
Where assigned by management, the Sales Executive may also be responsible for:
- Following up on pending customer payments.
- Coordinating with customers regarding outstanding invoices.
- Communicating payment commitments to the accounts team.
- Escalating delayed payments to management.
- Avoiding unauthorized credit commitments.
The Sales Executive must not independently approve credit limits, payment terms or special commercial conditions unless authorized by management.
12. Government / Institutional / Contractor Business
Depending on the candidate's responsibilities, the Sales Executive may also be involved in business development with:
- Government contractors
- Construction contractors
- Infrastructure companies
- Institutions
- Industrial organizations
- Project-based customers
- Government suppliers/vendors
The employee may be required to understand basic tender-related requirements and coordinate internally for quotations, documentation and product requirements.
Experience with GeM, government procurement, contractors or institutional sales will be considered an advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualification
- Graduate preferred.
- Candidates with strong sales experience may be considered irrespective of educational specialization.

Salary: ₹10000 – ₹30000per month
