Job Summary

We are looking for a compassionate and responsible Staff Nurse to provide nursing care and support to patients receiving psychiatric treatment. The Staff Nurse will be responsible for monitoring patients, administering prescribed medications, maintaining a safe setting, supporting therapeutic care, and coordinating with doctors and the nursing team.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide safe and compassionate nursing care to psychiatric patients.
- Monitor patients' physical and behavioral conditions and report significant changes to the doctor or Nursing In-charge.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for possible side effects.
- Maintain accurate medication records, nursing notes, and patient documentation.
- Observe patients for changes in mood, behavior, sleep, appetite, and activity levels.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients.
- Follow appropriate precautions for patients who may be at risk of self-harm, aggression, absconding, or other safety concerns.
- Assist doctors and senior nursing staff during patient assessments and treatment procedures.
- Support patients with daily activities, personal hygiene, nutrition, and other basic care needs when required.
- Communicate with patients calmly, respectfully, and without judgment.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with patients.




- Provide basic health education and support to patients and their attendants as instructed.
- Ensure proper handover of patient information during shift changes.
- Follow hospital protocols for emergency situations and psychiatric emergencies.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and clinical records.
- Follow infection-control, safety, and biomedical waste-management procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the patient-care area.
- Coordinate with doctors, psychologists, therapists, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Participate in nursing training, departmental meetings, and patient-care activities.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Nursing In-charge or Management.

Qualification

- B.Sc Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution.
- Valid Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council registration.
- Previous experience in a psychiatric/mental-health setting will be an advantage.
- Freshers may also be considered based on the requirement.

Experience

0–3+ years of relevant nursing experience. Experience in psychiatric/mental-health care is preferred.

Shift

Rotational shifts, including day and night shifts, as per the hospital duty roster.

Salary

As per experience and hospital norms.

Pay: ₹21,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
