Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Associate Product Manager to manage platform operations, translate business requirements into actionable tasks, coordinate engineers, and ensure reliable feature delivery.
You will report directly to the Founder, who sets the product vision and business priorities. You will turn those priorities into clear requirements, configurations, test scenarios, and delivery schedules.

- Work directly with the Founder to clarify business requirements and agree priorities.
- Translate ideas into user stories, workflow descriptions, business rules, and measurable acceptance criteria.
- Maintain an organized product backlog with clear scope, ownership, dependencies, and deadlines.
- Identify gaps and usability problems; recommend practical improvements.
- Escalate decisions affecting scope, cost, priorities, or delivery commitments to the Founder.
4. Engineer Coordination & Delivery Planning
- Coordinate day-to-day work with a small team of platform engineers.
- Ensure engineers have complete requirements and clearly defined expected outcomes.
- Run brief progress reviews, track blockers, and verify completed work.
- Maintain rolling 1-week, 2-week, and 1-month look-ahead schedules.
- Provide the Founder with a concise weekly update covering delivery progress, outstanding defects, risks, and decisions required.
5. Hands-On Quality Assurance
- Write and execute use cases, test cases, and end-to-end testing scenarios.
- Test journeys for students, professionals, college coordinators, employers, instructors, and administrators.
- Verify registration, login, memberships, payments, course access, event bookings, group access, job applications, and support workflows.
- Test failed transactions, expired access, incorrect permissions, duplicate submissions, and other exception scenarios.
- Conduct regression, mobile, and cross-browser checks on staging before release.
- Record bugs with reproduction steps, screenshots, severity, and expected versus actual results.
- Provide functional acceptance against agreed criteria and perform post-release checks.
6. Connected Architecture & Reliability
- Understand the operational relationship between the Next.js front end and WordPress back end, including Cloudflare-hosted front-end delivery and API-driven workflows.
- Coordinate checks for caching, content synchronization, authentication, media delivery, and integration failures.
- Monitor available uptime, performance, error, and transaction dashboards.
- Coordinate incident investigation and resolution with engineers.
- Track plugin updates, compatibility issues, security alerts, and maintenance activities.
- Confirm backup and rollback readiness with engineers before significant releases.
Engineers remain responsible for custom code, technical deployment, server administration, and infrastructure remediation.
7. Documentation, Support & Improvement
- Maintain configuration records, module inventories, operating procedures, test repositories, and release notes.
- Help internal teams use platform features correctly.
- Review support tickets to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
- Track agreed indicators such as registration completion, enrollment success, booking success, unresolved defects, and support resolution times.
Required Skills & Experience
- 4–7 years of relevant experience across platform operations, WordPress administration, product delivery, QA, or technical project coordination.
- Strong hands-on WordPress Multisite knowledge is essential, including network administration, subsites, shared users, roles, and plugin activation scope.
- Practical experience administering an LMS, membership, community, recruitment, or comparable multi-module platform.
- Ability to configure features through administration interfaces without relying on developers for every routine change.
- Strong testing discipline and experience documenting requirements, acceptance criteria, and reproducible bugs.
- Experience coordinating developers and managing work through tools such as Jira, Trello, Asana, or ClickUp.
- Working understanding of APIs, databases, DNS, caching, staging, production, backups, and access control.
- Clear written communication, structured planning, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.
Preferred Experience
- Direct experience with several of the plugins listed above, particularly LifterLMS, BuddyPress, WooCommerce, and Paid Memberships Pro.
- WordPress Multisite platforms connected to a separate front end.
- Payment gateways, transactional emails, LinkedIn authentication, Zoom, Vimeo, and Amazon S3.
- Familiarity with hosting dashboards and concepts such as Docker, Portainer, Nginx, MariaDB, and Redis.
- Experience in education, professional learning, recruitment, or community platforms.
What Success Looks Like
- The Founder’s priorities become clear, actionable delivery plans.
- Engineers receive complete requirements and timely clarification.
- Platform configurations and user access work consistently across sites.
- Critical user journeys are tested before and after releases.
- Issues are tracked through verified resolution.
- Users can reliably learn, participate, connect, and access career opportunities.
This is a hands-on product and platform role requiring operational ownership, strong testing discipline, and close collaboration with the Founder.
