Job Description – Emergency Medical Officer (EMO) – ICU

Position: Emergency Medical Officer (EMO) – ICU
Department: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Location: Sanjivini Super Speciality Hospital, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow
Experience: 3–5 years preferred

Key Responsibilities

- Provide immediate medical assessment and treatment to ICU patients.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall clinical condition.
- Manage medical emergencies and initiate appropriate life-saving measures.
- Attend ICU emergencies promptly and coordinate with consultants/specialists.
- Perform and assist in emergency procedures as required.
- Maintain accurate patient assessment, treatment, and progress records.
- Ensure proper documentation of medications, procedures, investigations, and patient condition.
- Monitor and manage critically ill patients under the guidance of consultants.
- Coordinate with nursing staff for timely medication, investigations, and patient care.
- Escalate any deterioration in the patient's condition to the concerned consultant immediately.




- Follow ICU protocols, infection-control practices, and hospital policies.
- Ensure proper handover of patients during shift changes.
- Maintain effective communication with patients’ attendants when required.
- Respond appropriately to code/emergency situations within the ICU.

Required Qualifications

- MBBS/BAMS/BHMS from a recognized medical college.
- Valid medical registration.
- ICU/Emergency experience preferred.
- Good knowledge of emergency medicine and basic critical care.

- Strong clinical observation and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Responsible, punctual, and disciplined.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, including night duties.
- Valuable documentation and patient-management skills.
