The organization works with psychologists and psychiatrists who are committed to ethical practice and high-quality care. The team also prioritizes building a structured, professional environment for mental health practitioners. Applicants will join a mission-driven company that values accessibility, ethics, and collaboration in mental health services.
Role Description
This is a remote internship for an App Development Intern at Zenup Health in Mumbai. You'll work on our Flutter mobile app - the client-facing side of our mental health platform, covering onboarding and authentication, expert discovery, booking and payments, in-app video sessions, messaging, a moderated peer community, and wellness tools. It runs on Supabase (Postgres, Auth, Row Level Security, Realtime) and talks to the same Node.js API as our web platform. You'll own features end to end, from the data layer up to the screen, and take them all the way through to a release on the Play Store and App Store.
Our Stack
- App: Flutter (stable channel) and Dart 3, structured feature-first with data / domain / presentation layers
- State: no framework - ValueNotifier, ValueListenableBuilder, ChangeNotifier and a hand-written router, so you work close to Flutter itself
- Data: Supabase - Postgres, Auth (OTP and password), Row Level Security, Realtime channels, Storage
- Backend: a shared Node.js/Express REST API for experts, packages, bookings and the notes vault
- Media & real-time: MediaSFU and flutter_webrtc for in-app video sessions, permission_handler
- Local & offline:
Hive, shared_preferences, cached_network_image
- Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging plus flutter_local_notifications with timezone-aware reminders
- Security: the `cryptography` package - X25519, HKDF-SHA256, AES-256-GCM and Argon2id behind a client-side session vault
- Also in the app: Razorpay payments, on-device image moderation, full English/Hindi localisation, light and dark theming
- Release: Gradle release signing, Play Console and App Store Connect / TestFlight
Qualifications
- Robust Flutter and Dart - widget lifecycle, async, custom widgets, and building responsive screens from a design. We will go deep on this.
- You have published at least one Android or iOS app built with Flutter, or can show one running end to end.
- Comfortable with Flutter state management. We do not use Riverpod or Bloc, so being able to reason about state without a framework matters more than knowing one.
- Experience calling REST APIs and wiring a backend such as Supabase into an app - auth, error states, loading states and offline behaviour.
- Working knowledge of Supabase or Postgres, including what Row Level Security is for.
- Able to debug Android and iOS build and plugin issues on your own - Gradle errors, platform channels, permissions.
- Care with production data - you understand why a healthcare app handles personal and clinical information carefully.
- Effective communication and collaboration.
- Ability to contribute fresh ideas, think critically, and bring radical changes to our technologies and frameworks.
- Graduate in Computer Science or a related field (Bachelor's completed).
Pay: ₹7,000.00 - ₹10,000.00 per month
Benefits:
- Flexible schedule
- Paid sick time
- Paid time off
- Work from home
Work Location: Remote
