Coal Logistics & Handling:

Oversee the efficient unloading (wagon tipplers), stacking, reclaiming, and routing of coal via conveyor networks to meet real-time power generation demands.

Operational Monitoring: Manage the continuous operation of coal crushers, magnetic separators, and screening systems using SCADA/PLC platforms to ensure optimal fuel sizing and quality.

Maintenance Coordination: Partner with engineering teams to execute preventive maintenance, minimize equipment downtime (MTTR), and clear critical chute or hopper blockages.

Inventory & Fire Management: Conduct stockyard audits, manage daily coal consumption, and implement compaction/sprinkling protocols to prevent spontaneous coal combustion.

Strict Plant Housekeeping (5S): Enforce systematic clean-up of coal spillages along conveyor belts, tunnels, and transfer points to prevent structural hazards and drainage blockages.

Dust & Environmental Control: Oversee Dust Suppression Systems (DSS) and Dust Extraction (DE)



systems to eliminate explosive airborne dust accumulation on cable trays and structures.

Safety & Compliance: Drive absolute adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, safety permits, and fire-fighting system readiness in high-risk zones.

Workforce Leadership: Manage shift rosters, optimize technical manpower allocation, and lead safety drills and operational training for supervisors and technicians.

Key Competencies Required

Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of bulk material handling systems, belt conveyors, crushers, and SCADA control rooms.

Monsoon & Crisis Management: Proven ability to handle wet coal challenges, chute jam emergencies, and drainage control.

Leadership: Solid workforce planning, shift administration, and cross-functional team coordination.
