Mechanical Design Engineer – UG/NX

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer with 1–3 years of experience in mechanical product/component design and hands-on experience with Siemens NX (UG-NX).

The candidate will be responsible for creating and modifying 3D models, 2D drawings, assemblies, and engineering documentation while working closely with manufacturing, quality, and other engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Create and modify 3D part models and assemblies using Siemens NX (UG-NX).
- Develop detailed 2D manufacturing drawings with appropriate dimensions, tolerances, GD&T;, and engineering specifications.
- Design mechanical components, brackets, housings, shafts, sheet-metal parts, and assemblies based on project requirements.
- Interpret engineering specifications, sketches, layouts, and customer requirements.
- Perform design changes and incorporate engineering change requests (ECR/ECO).
- Conduct basic design calculations and select appropriate materials and components.
- Apply GD&T;, fits & tolerances, and DFM/DFA principles in product design.
- Review designs for manufacturability, assembly feasibility, cost, and functionality.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, tooling, quality, sourcing, and production teams to resolve design-related issues.
- Support prototype development, testing, validation, and design improvements.
- Prepare and maintain BOMs, engineering drawings, specifications, and other design documentation.
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from senior engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Follow company engineering standards, drawing standards, and document-control procedures.

Required Technical Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with Siemens NX / UG-NX.
- Valuable understanding of 3D modeling, assembly modeling,



and drafting.
- Knowledge of 2D drawing creation and detailing.
- Understanding of GD&T;, dimensional tolerances, fits, and surface finish.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, casting, forging, welding, etc.
- Understanding of mechanical materials and their applications.
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA and basic design-for-manufacturing principles.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with BOM, ECO/ECN and engineering documentation.
- Basic knowledge of engineering standards and practices.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in automotive / industrial equipment / machinery / aerospace / heavy engineering design.
- Knowledge of NX Sheet Metal, Routing, or advanced modeling.
- Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems such as Teamcenter.
- Exposure to FEA or basic engineering analysis is an advantage.
- Experience working with manufacturing and shop-floor teams.
- Knowledge of tolerance stack-up and design validation.

Education & Experience

- B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical / Production / Mechatronics or related discipline.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in mechanical design.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens NX (UG-NX) is mandatory/preferred.
- Candidates with strong academic/project experience in NX may also be considered for entry-level positions.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
