- ABOUT THE PROFILE
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse with at least 2 years of experience in handling OPD, IPD, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and General Surgery patients along with assistance in OT. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in rotational shifts and supporting multiple departments as needed. This role requires a high level of professionalism, commitment to patient care, and adaptability in a fast-paced hospital environment.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Clinical Nursing Care
1. Deliver high-quality nursing care across OPD, IPD, NICU, MICU, SICU, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Emergency departments as per hospital protocols.
2. Perform patient assessment, monitor vital signs, administer medications, dressing and wound care, IV fluids, injections, and assist doctors during examinations, procedures, and emergencies.
3. Handle admissions, transfers, discharges, and ensure smooth patient flow while providing compassionate bedside care.
4. Assist in emergency response, CPR, resuscitation, trauma management, and stabilization of critically ill patients.
5. Ensure proper pre-operative and post-operative care of the surgical cases.
6. Provide specialized neonatal care in the NICU, including monitoring newborns, feeding support, oxygen therapy, and incubator management.
- Follow the “five rights” of medication administration, verify patient identity with two identifiers, and apply independent double-check for high-alert medications.
- Carry out risk assessments (falls, pressure injury, pain, nutrition) and use early-warning scores to escalate deterioration to the RMO / consultant without delay.
- Support pre-operative preparation (consent, PAC, part preparation, pre-op medication) and ward-to-OT / OT-to-ward transfer checklists.
- Perform sample collection with correct labelling, and monitor blood / blood-product transfusion as per hospital policy.
B. Documentation
7. Prepare and maintain accurate nursing documentation, including patient records, nursing notes, treatment charts, medication records, vital charts and discharge summaries.
- Ensure entries are legible, dated, timed and signed; complete the IPD file checklist at admission and discharge.
C. Infection Control, Safety & Inventory
8. Ensure strict adherence to Infection Control Nursing (ICN) protocols, biomedical waste management, hand hygiene, sterilization practices, and hospital safety standards.
9. Manage inventory of medicines,
consumables, emergency equipment, and nursing supplies; maintain stock records and coordinate timely replenishment.
- Implement device-related infection prevention bundles (IV cannula, urinary catheter, central line) and segregate waste as per Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules.
- Check the emergency trolley / crash cart and drug expiry daily; report needle-stick and sharps injuries immediately.
D. Coordination, Patient Education & Handover
10. Coordinate effectively with doctors, consultants, laboratory, pharmacy, and other departments to ensure seamless patient care.
11. Educate patients and attendants regarding treatment plans, medication, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
- Give structured (e.g. SBAR) bedside handover at every shift change.
- Explain patient rights and responsibilities and support informed consent, including the patient’s privacy and dignity.
E. Quality, Compliance & Professional Conduct
12. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with NABH/Nursing Council guidelines and hospital policies.
13. Participate in shift handovers, quality improvement initiatives, audits, training programs, and continuous career development.
14. Demonstrate excellent communication, teamwork, professionalism, and the ability to work efficiently in rotational shifts and high-pressure clinical environments.
15. Shift: Must be comfortable with rotational shifts (Day/Night).
16. Department Support: Willingness to work across departments based on hospital needs.
- Report incidents and near-misses in the prescribed format within the defined timeline and take part in corrective / preventive action.
- Attend the 6-day induction, monthly in-house nursing training and competency assessments; maintain own training record.
- Any other nursing or clinical duty assigned by the management in the interest of patient care.
4. QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & REGISTRATION
- Diploma GNM or B.Sc. in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- The qualification should be Indian Nursing Council (INC) recognised.
- Minimum 6 months to 2 years in OPD, IPD, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, or General Surgery.
- Experience in NICU / ICU, OT assistance and an NABH-accredited hospital is an advantage; candidates with the required experience in a comparable surgical-centre setting will be preferred.
- Valid Uttar Pradesh Registration of State
- Nursing Council registration certificate must be valid at the time of joining, filed in the personal file and renewal tracked by HR; valid BLS certification is required (to be completed within 3 months of joining if not held).
5. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Clinical skills: IV cannulation, injections, catheterisation, ECG, oxygen therapy, wound and stoma care, Ryle’s tube feeding, glucometry, sample collection, CPR / BLS.
- Knowledge of nursing procedures, medication safety, infection prevention and NABH nursing standards.
- Clear communication with patients, attendants and doctors in Hindi and English; empathetic, punctual and proactive.
- Basic computer skills for HIS / EMR entries; attention to detail in documentation.
6. WORK CONDITIONS & COMMITMENT
- Rotational duties – Day / Night – as per the roster assigned by the Nursing In-charge; weekly off and leave as per Healic HR policy.
- Uniform, grooming, ID card and professional conduct as per hospital policy.
7. HEALTH, INDUCTION & CREDENTIALING
- Pre-employment health check-up and Hepatitis B / other vaccinations as per Healic staff-vaccination policy; annual health check-up thereafter.
- Completion of the induction and departmental on-the-job training record within the first month.
- Credentialing and privileging on the applicable format before independent duties.
- Complete personal file as per the “Documents required in staff personal file” checklist.
8. SELECTION PROCEDURE & COMPANY INFORMATION
Procedure 2 Rounds - Telephonic Interview + Virtual Round + F2F; followed by document verification, reference / background check and pre-employment health check-up.
