Draftsman – Job Description and Responsibilities
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a talented Draftsman to join our team at JEPL, to provide creative
material handling solutions. The candidate will be responsible for creating accurate technical
drawings and layouts that support the design and manufacturing of material handling
equipments. He will work closely with design engineers and project managers to ensure that
all designs meet functional, safety, and quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Drawings: Prepare and modify detailed drawings, layouts, and schematics for
material handling systems and equipment using CAD software.
Collaboration: Collaborate with design, project and production teams to translate
concepts into actionable drawings that align with project specifications and client needs.
 Design Modifications: Revise and update existing drawings based on feedback from
engineers, project managers, and clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry
standards.
 Documentation Management: Maintain a comprehensive filing system for all drafts and




revisions, ensuring that all documentation is organized and easily accessible.
 Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of drawings to ensure precision,
completeness, and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.
 Site Assessments: Participate in site visits to gather information and insights to inform
design modifications and ensure designs fit actual conditions.
 Client Interaction: Assist in presenting design concepts and solutions to clients,
incorporating their feedback into project revisions.
 Continuous Learning: Stay current with advancements in material handling technologies
and drafting techniques to enhance productivity and design quality.
 QUALIFICATIONS:
 Education: Diploma / BE / B.Tech (Mechanical Only).
 Experience: 3+ years of experience in drafting, particularly in engineering or
manufacturing settings related to material handling.
