Applications are invited for the position of Project Research Scientist–III at the Translational Biology

Lab (https://dhanjal-lab.iiitd.edu.in) under project title “Development of an affordable Indigenous

Integrated Platform (reagents and analysis software) for Non-Invasive Prenatal Screening (NIPS) of

Fetal Aneuploidies” The selected candidate will contribute to research involving biomedical data

analysis using statistics- and AI/ML-based approaches, and coordination with clinical and research

collaborators.

Post and Position: Project Research Scientist–III: 01 Position

Reporting to: Dr. Jaspreet Kaur Dhanjal, Assistant professor

Monthly Remuneration: ₹78,000/- per month + HRA, as admissible, as per applicable ICMR project

Essential Qualifications: The candidate should possess any one of the following:

I. Post Graduate Degree, including integrated PG degrees, with five years of post-qualification
experience,

OR

Ph.D. with two years of post-qualification experience.

II. For Engineering / IT / Computer Science:

Four-year Graduate Degree with five years of post-qualification experience,

OR

Post Graduate Degree with three years of post-qualification experience,

OR

Ph.D.

Area of Work and Responsibilities: The selected candidate will

- Lead and contribute to research activities involving biomedical and clinical datasets.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate computational, statistical, and/or AI/ML-based

approaches relevant to the objectives of the project.

- Analyse and integrate complex biological and clinical datasets and interpret the findings in

the context of the underlying biomedical problem.
- Coordinate research activities with clinical, experimental,



computational, and other project

collaborators.
- Guide and support junior project staff and students involved in data analysis and other

research activities.
- Contribute to the preparation of research manuscripts, technical reports, presentations,

project deliverables, and other scientific documentation.

- Assist in maintaining appropriate project documentation, datasets, computational outputs,

and research records.
- Support timely completion of project milestones and contribute towards translating research

outcomes into practically deployable solutions.

Desirable Skills:

- Solid background in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or Data Science.
- Experience in Python/R, statistical analysis, machine learning/deep learning, and biological

or clinical data analysis.

- Experience working with large-scale biomedical, genomic, clinical, or other

healthcare-related datasets will be advantageous.
- Demonstrated research experience through publications, research projects, software/tools,

patents, or other relevant outputs.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary or multi-institutional research projects, particularly

involving clinicians, hospitals, or industry, will be advantageous.
- Strong scientific writing, communication, coordination, and project-management skills.

Duration: Initially for 11 months, subject to successful completion of a three-month probation

period. The appointment may be extended based on satisfactory performance, project requirements,

availability of funds, and applicable IIIT-Delhi norms.
