Who We Are
At Bluehost, we believe all small businesses deserve the chance to succeed online. Our mission is to give small businesses the confidence to think big. We're the all-in-one platform for small businesses to grow online with powerful simplicity, premium performance, smart tools and human support.
As Bluehost scales, reliability and positive data both depend on solid platform engineering. You'll lead the team that keeps our infrastructure resilient and our data trustworthy — from cloud architecture and containerized hosting to backup/disaster recovery, observability, and the pipelines that turn raw data into insight for product and growth teams across a fast-growing SMB SaaS platform.

What You'll Do & How You'll Make Your Mark
This is a player-coach role: you'll manage a small team while staying hands-on as a software engineer yourself.
As a manager
Lead and develop a team of ~4 engineers spanning data engineering, devops, cloud infrastructure, hosting solutions, and observability — hiring, mentoring, and owning performance and career development.

Set technical direction and priorities across the team's full portfolio: data pipelines, public cloud configuration, containerized hosting, backup/disaster recovery, observability, and internal automation.
Partner directly with product, analytics, security, and engineering leadership to translate ambiguous business needs into infrastructure and data roadmaps.
Drive on-call and incident-response practices so pipeline, cloud, and hosting issues are caught before they hit customers or a dashboard.
Report on team health, system reliability, and roadmap progress to leadership.

As an engineer
Personally design, build, and maintain production systems across the team's domains — pipelines, cloud infrastructure, containerized services, and automation — not just review others' work.
Write and review code for data pipelines, devops tooling, cloud configuration (infrastructure-as-code), observability instrume
