Job Description:

A General Manager (GM) of a mill is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall operations, efficiency, and profitability of a specific mill or manufacturing facility, such as a rolling mill. Their duties include setting production targets, managing budgets, leading and inspiring staff, ensuring quality control, overseeing maintenance, and implementing strategies for continuous improvement and growth.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight:Manage day-to-day mill operations, ensuring smooth production processes and efficiency.
Production Management:Develop and implement production plans, monitor schedules, and adjust as needed to meet targets and deadlines.
Quality Control:Establish and enforce quality standards for products, often involving the analysis and optimization of machine parameters and processes.
Financial Management:Create and manage budgets, control costs, and analyze financial reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure profitability.
Team Leadership:Lead, mentor, and motivate teams,



fostering a positive and productive work setting, and managing performance and development.
Maintenance & Improvement:Oversee mill maintenance, implement improvements to machinery, processes, and pass designs to increase yield and reduce waste.
Strategic Planning:Develop strategic goals and objectives, identify growth opportunities, and drive initiatives for operational excellence and business growth.
Compliance:Ensure adherence to industry regulations, safety standards (like OSHA), and internal organizational policies.
