Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced EDI Developer with strong Java and SQL expertise to develop and enhance
healthcare EDI features from the product backlog. The developer will collaborate with Product, Business, and
Quality Engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver features across development, testing,
deployment, and production support.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and enhance healthcare EDI features based on backlog requirements.
Work with Product Owners and Business Analysts to understand user stories and requirements.
¢ Develop solutions using Java, SQL, APIs, web services, and integration technologies.
¢ Work with healthcare EDI transactions, mappings, and integrations.
¢ Troubleshoot application issues, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve defects.
¢ Collaborate with QE teams on testing, defect validation, and resolution.
¢ Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, Agile ceremonies, reviews, and demos.
¢ Deploy features and provide production support.
¢ Use Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps for development, CI/CD, deployment, and work tracking.
¢ Use AI-assisted development tools to improve coding,



analysis, debugging, documentation, and productivity.
Required Skills
¢ Robust hands-on Java development experience and advanced SQL skills.
¢ Hands-on experience with EDI development, mapping, transaction processing, and integrations.
¢ Experience with healthcare EDI and HIPAA X12 transactions.
¢ Experience developing and integrating REST APIs and web services.
¢ Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps.
¢ Experience working in an Agile development environment.
¢ Strong analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
¢ Experience with AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Azure AI tools.
Preferred Skills
¢ Experience with 837, 835, 834, 270/271, and 276/277 healthcare transactions.
¢ Experience with CI/CD, Git/GitHub, code reviews, and automated testing.
¢ Experience modernizing or enhancing existing EDI applications.
¢ Experience supporting production deployments and resolving post-release issues.

¢ 10+ years of relevant software development experience with strong hands-on expertise in Java, SQL, EDI, and
healthcare integrations.
