Role Description The Bag Designer at GAPPU will design and develop functional, aesthetically appealing bags and cases for musical instruments, with a focus on protection, usability, and brand consistency. Day-to-day responsibilities include conceptualizing new bag designs, sketching and refining ideas, selecting materials and hardware, creating technical specifications, and collaborating with production teams to ensure high-quality manufacturing.
The role involves working closely with instrument designers to align bag designs with product dimensions and performance needs, conducting fit and durability tests, and iterating based on feedback from users and internal stakeholders. This is a full time, in office role located in the Kolkata metropolitan area, requiring regular coordination with workshop staff and hands-on work with prototypes and samples.
Qualifications
• Experience in bag, accessory, or product design, including concept development, sketching, and translating ideas into production-ready designs.
• Knowledge of materials and construction for soft goods (e.g., textiles, padding, stitching, zippers, hardware) and an understanding of durability and ergonomics.
• Ability to create and interpret technical drawings, patterns, and specifications; familiarity with design tools or CAD software is preferred.
