Job Description:

Mechanics in a steel plant (instrument, electronics, or plant-specific) maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy machinery, hydraulic systems, and control systems to ensure minimal downtime. Key responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, calibrating equipment, and repairing AC/DC motors, gearboxes, and cranes, typically requiring 2–7 years of industrial experience.

Common Roles & Responsibilities:
Preventive/Corrective Maintenance: Develop and implement maintenance schedules to reduce downtime, including routine inspections of machinery.
Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including motors, pumps, and gearboxes.
