The Cisco Wireless Feature & System Engineering team builds end-to-end wireless capabilities across access points, controllers, and cloud-managed platforms. We design features that span device software, control planes, and management systems to deliver seamless, secure, and high-performance enterprise Wi-Fi.
Your Impact
As a Full-Stack Wireless Software Engineer, you will contribute to building and validating wireless features across the stack—from access points to controllers and management systems. This is a full development and test role, where you will own features from implementation through validation and automation.
In This Role, You Will
• Develop and integrate wireless features across AP, controller, and management layers
• Write and maintain software in C/C++ and scripting languages (Python)
• Design and execute test plans, and develop automation for feature validation
• Analyze logs, packet traces, and system behavior to debug issues
• Reproduce issues and validate fixes across system components
• Set up and use lab environments for testing wireless scenarios
• Collaborate with platform, radio, QA, and cloud teams
• Use AI-assisted tools to improve development, testing, and debugging efficiency
Required Skills
• MS + 3 years or BS + 5 years of experience
• Solid coding skills in C/C++ and Python
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals and Wi-Fi basics (802.11)
• Experience or interest in testing, automation, and system validation
• Strong debugging and analytical skills
• Interest in working across development and test domains
Preferred Skills
• Familiarity with WPA2/WPA3 security basics
• Exposure to controllers or cloud-managed systems
• Experience with Wireshark or similar tools
