Role Description The Ph.D. Position in Advanced Materials for Surface Engineering and Tribological Applications is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Coimbatore Area. The candidate will conduct experimental and theoretical research on advanced materials, coatings,



and surface modification techniques aimed at improving wear resistance, friction behavior, and overall tribological performance. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and performing laboratory experiments, characterizing materials using appropriate analytical tools, analyzing data, and developing models to understand material behavior under different operating conditions. The position also involves reviewing scientific literature, preparing research manuscripts and conference presentations, contributing to project reports, and collaborating with faculty, research staff, and peers. The candidate is expected to participate in seminars, assist in mentoring junior students in the lab, and engage in collaborative projects with internal and external research partners.
