The RoleWe're looking for an Assistant Manager – Procurement to run procurement operations independently and support the Senior Manager in building stronger vendor and sourcing systems. You'll own sourcing of raw materials, chemicals, packaging materials, dispensers, components and capital items. You'll work closely with R&D;, Production, Quality, Stores and Finance, and guide a procurement executive.
Key Responsibilities• Plan and execute purchases of raw materials, packaging, components and capital items against defined timelines and rates.
• Source and evaluate suppliers on price, quality, reliability, MOQ and lead time, and negotiate commercial terms.




• Build and maintain the vendor database (prices, MOQ, lead time, payment terms, capacity, purchase history), and review vendor performance regularly.
• Develop alternate suppliers for critical materials to reduce supply risk.
• Work with Stores and Production to track stock and upcoming demand, avoiding both stock-outs and excess inventory.
• Analyse costs and price trends, benchmark suppliers and drive cost-saving initiatives.
• Coordinate with Quality on supplier documentation, specifications and approvals, and with Finance on payment issues.
• Manage freight and transporter partners for faster, lower-cost delivery.
• Prepare MIS reports on open POs, shortages, price changes and vendor performance.
• Mentor and guide the procurement executive, and follow compliance, health and safety standards.
