Scope of Work

• Provide technical leadership for the Datastores and Streaming (DSS) team in Bangalore (BLR).
• Guide and contribute to global database and streaming operations across multiple technologies, following a continuous support model.
• Technologies include:
• SQL: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MariaDB
• NoSQL: Couchbase, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch
• Streaming: Apache Kafka

• Deliver high-quality outcomes related to evolution, operations, and support for components owned by the DSS team.
• Partner with global DSS teams on change initiatives and innovations.
• Take ownership for two technologies: Elasticsearch and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Support Artificial Intelligence (AI) transformation initiatives in Bangalore.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team members.

In this role, you'll

• Develop automated solutions for public cloud data centre system configurations.
• Introduce and recommend up-to-date approaches to database management.
• Design and maintain reference database architectures,



including disaster recovery and data replication strategies.
• Improve availability, performance, and serviceability across systems.
• Establish and evolve database standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with application and product teams to ensure robust database and streaming integration.
• Optimize hardware and cloud resource utilization for maximum efficiency.
• Drive cost-effective solutions across resources and operations.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve critical database issues.

Your Profile

• Extensive experience in managing large databases for high-availability, distributed systems (typically 12+ years, including leadership responsibilities).
• Proven experience driving database architecture and deployment design.
• Strong understanding of database architecture, large-scale systems (>10 TB), and mission-critical environments.
