Job Description Summary

The Chief Software Architect, Patient Care Solutions (PCS) Digital, is responsible for defining and governing the end-to-end technology strategy, architecture roadmap, and design standards for PCS Digital applications. The role provides technical leadership across applications that support mission-significant and mission-support clinical and service workflows across the PCS ecosystem.

The Chief Software Architect leads through technical authority, architecture governance, and cross-functional influence. The role partners closely with the PCS Chief Engineer and leaders across Product, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Quality, Regulatory and Service to align architecture decisions with customer needs, patient safety, cybersecurity, regulatory expectations, lifecycle support, and cost-effective execution. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the VP, PCS Digital Solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the technology strategy and architecture roadmap for PCS Digital applications.




• Establish architecture standards and guardrails across data, applications, deployment, cybersecurity, reliability, observability, lifecycle management, and operational readiness.
• Drive common architecture patterns and reusable solutions that improve scalability, maintainability, serviceability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Define architecture principles for resiliency, disaster recovery, elasticity, performance, and infrastructure cost management.
• Drive rigorous technical design reviews across PCS Digital, ensuring disciplined assessment of trade-offs related to safety, reliability, cybersecurity, cost, schedule, serviceability, and long-term maintainability.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate clinical workflows, customer constraints, product strategy, and business needs into practical architecture decisions.
