About the Role
We're looking for a PolyWorks Application Programmer to develop and automate portable metrology workflows using Hexagon portable measuring arms and Leica laser trackers. You'll build inspection routines, macros, and custom tools that make large-part and shop-floor measurement faster, more repeatable, and easier for operators to run. You'll work closely with quality engineers, metrology technicians, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain automated inspection projects in PolyWorks|Inspector using Hexagon Absolute Arms (with or without laser scanners) and Leica Absolute Trackers
• Write macros and scripts using the PolyWorks macro language and PolyWorks|Talk to automate probing, scanning, alignment, and reporting
• Program tracker-based inspections for large assemblies, including jigs, fixtures, tooling, and structures, using reflector, probe, and scanner measurements
• Build repeatable alignment strategies (RPS, best-fit, datum-based) and multi-station tracker and arm workflows




• Create inspection plans from CAD models using GD&T; (ASME Y14.5 / ISO GPS)
• Configure and troubleshoot device connections, compensation, and calibration checks for arms and trackers
• Design report templates and automate data export to SPC, MES, ERP, or databases
• Support operators on the shop floor and resolve measurement, software, and hardware issues
• Document programs, standardize inspection methods, and train team members
• Improve cycle times, uncertainty, and measurement repeatability across portable metrology processes

Required Qualifications
• 6-9 years of hands-on experience in metrology or dimensional inspection
• Proficiency in PolyWorks and/or PC-DMIS, including working with point clouds
• Experience with Hexagon or ZEISS portable devices (portable CMM arms, laser trackers, laser scanners)
• Solid knowledge of GD&T;, blueprint reading, and measurement uncertainty
• Experience with CAD-to-part comparison and inspection report generation
