Role & responsibilities
The Head Legal will be the senior in-house legal adviser to the Parikh Family Office, responsible for protecting the family, its wealth, reputation and operating entities while enabling timely and practical decisions. The role combines legal judgment, disciplined execution, governance, document control, diplomacy and a very high standard of personal trust.
The portfolio spans family members and Family Office entities; companies and legacy businesses; investment vehicles; private and charitable trusts and foundations; residential, commercial and agricultural properties; philanthropy; employment; valuable movable assets; and selected cross-border interests.

Preferred candidate profile
Qualifications and experience
- LL.B. from a recognised institution and enrolment as an advocate in India; an additional qualification in company law, tax, trust/estate, finance or governance would be useful.
- Typically 10 to 15+ years of strong post-qualification experience, including meaningful in-house, general-counsel or comparable responsibility. Exceptional candidates with a different tenure may be considered.
- Broad experience across corporate/commercial matters, contracts, real estate, trusts and succession, compliance, employment/labour, disputes, IPR, insurance and municipal matters, with the judgment to engage specialists where required.
- Experience advising promoters, business families,
family offices, private wealth structures, trustees or closely held groups is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience managing law firms, solicitors, advocates and counsel, including scope, strategy, fees, budgets and outcomes.
Capabilities and personal qualities
- Legal judgment: Excellent analysis, issue-spotting, drafting and negotiation, combined with commercial judgment and the ability to make a clear recommendation
- Integrity: Absolute discretion and confidentiality, with sound understanding of privilege, conflicts, fiduciary duties, authority, evidence and limitation
- Calm, mature and low-ego; able to work sensitively with different generations, personalities and advisers, while remaining independent and willing to challenge tactfully.
- Strong ownership and follow-through: able to organise complex matters, pursue third parties, maintain accurate records and close loops after advice is given.
- Explicit, concise communication with non-lawyers; professional fluency in English and Hindi. Fluency in Marathi would be useful for local property, court and administrative matters.
- Comfort with secure digital document systems, matter tracking, dashboards and e-signatures; DSCs.
- Willingness to travel and work flexibly when urgent matters require it.
Success in the role
The successful candidate will build a trusted, responsive and well-controlled legal function: material risks are identified early; advice is clear and implementable; critical dates and obligations are not missed; disputes and external advisers are actively managed; records are complete and secure; and the Principals have timely visibility of decisions, exposures and required action.
