Manager / Assistant Manager Government Insurance Business (Handling & Liaisoning)

Own the end-to-end handling of government and PSU insurance business from tender participation and placement to servicing, renewals and claims coordination while maintaining strong working relationships with government departments, nodal officers, insurers and TPAs.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the complete lifecycle of government insurance accounts: state and central government schemes, PSU accounts, municipal corporations, boards and cooperative bodies.
Handle liasoning with government departments, nodal officers, scheme administrators and public sector insurers for approvals, documentation and follow-ups.
¢ Track, prepare and submit tenders / RFPs (including e-tender portals) EMD, technical and commercial bids, empanelment and pre-qualification documents.
¢ Coordinate placement of risks with insurers; negotiate terms, premiums and policy wordings across group health, GPA, crop, motor, fire, engineering and liability lines.
¢ Drive renewals, policy issuance, endorsements and MIS reporting for all government accounts.




¢ Ensure compliance with IRDAI regulations, tender terms and internal audit / documentation standards.
¢ Identify and develop recent government business opportunities and build a pipeline of prospective departments and PSUs.
Candidate Requirements
¢ 45 years of relevant experience with an insurance broking firm, insurance company or PSU insurer (mandatory).
¢ Demonstrated exposure to government / PSU accounts, tendering processes and departmental liaisoning.
¢ MBA from a recognised institute.
¢ Sound knowledge of general insurance products and policy documentation.
¢ Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-management skills; comfortable dealing with senior government officials.
¢ Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and e-tender / GeM portals.
¢ Willingness to travel within Maharashtra as required.
¢ IRDAI broker qualification certification will be an added advantage.
