Senior Manager Client Service ( please apply only if you have work experience in audit farm)
Our client is a Chartered Accountancy firm in Chennai with a diversified practice spanning Audit & Assurance, Direct Tax, GST, Corporate Compliance and Business Advisory.
Unlike highly specialised roles in larger firms, this position provides the prospect to develop into a well-rounded professional advisor with exposure to a broad spectrum of services typically delivered by a modern CA firm.
The successful candidate will work directly with the Partners, manage key client relationships, lead teams and gain hands-on experience in multiple technical domains while building a pathway towards leadership and partnership.
This role is ideal for ambitious Chartered Accountants who are passionate about professional practice, enjoy solving complex client issues and aspire to become future practice leaders.

Key Responsibilities
Audit & Assurance

- Lead and manage statutory audits and tax audits for companies, LLPs and other entities.
- Review audit planning, execution and documentation prepared by engagement teams.
- Review financial statements and audit reports.
- Ensure compliance with Standards on Auditing, Companies Act requirements and professional standards.
- Identify control weaknesses, business risks and improvement opportunities.
- Mentor and review the work of team members.

Direct Taxation

- Review and supervise preparation of income tax returns for corporate and non-corporate clients.
- Advise clients on tax planning and compliance matters.
- Handle tax assessments, notices, appeals and litigation support.
- Conduct technical research on complex taxation matters.
- Assist clients in structuring business transactions from a tax perspective.
- Support Partners in providing advisory services relating to capital gains, business reorganisations and tax-efficient structures.

Indirect Taxation (GST)

- Review GST compliance and return filings.




- Advise clients on GST implications of business transactions.
- Handle departmental notices, assessments and reconciliations.
- Support clients on GST audits and investigations.
- Assist in GST health checks and compliance reviews.
- Provide practical solutions to business issues involving indirect taxation.

Regulatory & Corporate Compliance

- Assist clients with Companies Act compliance matters.
- Support business clients on regulatory and governance requirements.
- Coordinate with legal advisors, company secretaries and other professionals.
- Review regulatory filings and compliance documentation.

Client Relationship Management

- Act as a key point of contact for assigned clients.
- Participate in meetings with promoters, CFOs and business owners.
- Develop a thorough understanding of clients' businesses and commercial objectives.
- Proactively identify opportunities to add value through advisory services.
- Maintain high standards of responsiveness and client service.

Team Leadership & Development

- Lead, mentor and train article assistants, paid assistants and qualified staff.
- Allocate and review assignments.
- Build technical capabilities within the team.
- Create a culture of accountability, learning and client service excellence.

Technology & AI

- Contribute towards adoption of technology-enabled audit and advisory processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and AI tools.
- Assist in implementation of knowledge management and workflow solutions.




- Drive innovation initiatives across service lines.

Mandatory

- Chartered Accountant with 3-5 years PQE.
- Prior experience in a CA firm or professional services environment.
- Strong technical grounding in audit and taxation.
- Experience managing teams and reviewing assignments.
- Ability to independently handle client interactions.

Preferred

- Exposure to advisory or transaction support assignments.
- Experience dealing directly with promoters and senior management.
- Interest in technology, automation and AI-enabled workflows.
