Job Title: Zonal Manager – Commercial Lines

Function: Commercial Lines / General Insurance

Location: Zonal Office

Team Size: As per business requirement The Zonal Manager – Commercial Lines will be responsible for driving profitable growth of the Commercial Lines portfolio across the assigned zone. The role will lead business development, relationship management, underwriting coordination, portfolio management, and team performance across commercial insurance products.

The incumbent will work closely with brokers, corporate clients, intermediaries, underwriting, claims, risk engineering, product, finance, and other internal stakeholders to achieve business objectives while maintaining portfolio quality and underwriting discipline.

- Develop and execute the zonal business strategy for Commercial Lines in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Drive recent business acquisition and renewal retention across the assigned territory.
- Identify key market opportunities, industries, customer segments, and large corporate accounts.
- Build and maintain relationships with key brokers, agents, corporate clients, intermediaries, and other distribution partners.
- Drive cross-selling and up-selling across the Commercial Lines product portfolio.
- Monitor business pipelines, conversions, renewal ratios, and business productivity.
- Participate in client meetings, negotiations, presentations,



and large-account discussions.
- Develop relationships with key decision-makers in large and mid-sized corporates.

- Monitor portfolio mix, premium growth, retention, profitability, claims trends, and concentration risks.
- Ensure business is aligned with the company's underwriting guidelines, risk appetite, and authority limits.
- Work with underwriting teams on complex and large risks, including appropriate pricing, terms, deductibles, warranties, and risk mitigation measures.
- Review portfolio performance and initiate corrective actions where required.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the zonal Commercial Lines team.
- Set individual and team-level business targets and monitor performance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to team members.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on business growth, customer service, technical excellence, and underwriting discipline.
- Identify training and capability-building requirements for the team.
- Support succession planning and development of future leaders.
