We are looking for an experienced and responsible Blood Bank Technician with 34 years of experience in blood bank operations. The candidate will be responsible for blood collection, testing, processing, storage, and issuing of blood and blood components while following all required safety, quality, and regulatory procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform blood collection, blood grouping, and Rh typing.

- Conduct compatibility testing and cross-matching before issuing blood.

- Perform screening of blood for TTI (Transfusion Transmitted Infections) as per hospital protocols.

- Handle and process blood components such as Whole Blood, Packed RBCs, Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP), and Platelets.

- Ensure proper storage and temperature maintenance of blood and blood components.

- Maintain accurate records of blood collection, testing, processing, storage, and issue.

- Check blood units for proper labeling, expiry dates, and storage conditions.

- Issue blood and blood components according to authorized requests and procedures.

- Monitor blood bank equipment and report any malfunction or temperature deviation.





- Follow infection control, biomedical waste management, and safety protocols.

- Maintain proper stock and inventory of blood bags, reagents, kits, and other consumables.

- Assist in maintaining documentation required for NABH and blood bank regulatory compliance.

- Handle emergency and urgent blood requirements efficiently.

- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other hospital departments regarding blood/component requirements.

- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of patient and donor information.

Required Qualifications:

- DMLT / B.Sc. MLT / B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology or relevant qualification.

- 3–4 years of relevant experience in a hospital/blood bank.

- Practical knowledge of blood grouping, cross-matching, TTI screening, and blood component handling.

- Knowledge of blood bank equipment, storage requirements, and safety procedures.

- Ability to work in rotational shifts, including night/emergency duties when required.
