Job Summary

Hillwood Group of Companies is looking for a qualified and experienced Accountant with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to manage day-to-day accounting operations, GST compliance, financial documentation, reconciliations, and statutory accounting requirements.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical experience in GST-related accounting and compliance, along with a good understanding of Indian accounting principles, taxation, statutory filings, and financial reporting.

The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely GST compliance, coordinating with auditors and tax professionals, and supporting the management in financial and accounting-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

- Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts.
- Handle day-to-day accounting transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, expenses, and journal entries.
- Prepare and maintain ledgers, cash books, bank books, and other accounting records.
- Record and verify invoices, bills, receipts, vouchers, and other financial documents.
- Perform regular bank, cash, customer, and supplier reconciliations.
- Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Follow up on outstanding receivables and payables as required.
- Ensure proper classification and recording of expenses and income.
- GST & Taxation – Key Responsibility
- Handle day-to-day GST-related accounting and compliance activities.
- Prepare and assist with timely filing of applicable GST returns.
- Verify purchase and sales invoices for GST accuracy and compliance.
- Reconcile GSTR-2B/Input Tax Credit (ITC) with purchase records and books of accounts.
- Monitor and reconcile outward supplies with applicable GST returns.
- Identify discrepancies in GST records and coordinate for necessary corrections.
- Ensure proper accounting of CGST, SGST, IGST and applicable GST transactions.
- Maintain proper documentation and records related to GST.
- Assist in responding to GST notices, queries, and departmental communications.
- Coordinate with consultants, tax professionals, and auditors for GST-related matters.
- Keep track of changes in GST rules, notifications, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure timely payment of GST liabilities and other applicable statutory dues.
- Financial Reporting & Reconciliation
- Prepare periodic financial statements and management reports.




- Assist in preparation of Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet.
- Prepare monthly/periodic trial balances and schedules.
- Conduct ledger scrutiny and identify discrepancies.
- Reconcile customer and vendor balances.
- Assist management with accounting reports and financial information whenever required.
- Statutory & Compliance Activities
- Assist with statutory accounting and taxation requirements.
- Maintain proper records for statutory audits and tax assessments.
- Coordinate with auditors, Chartered Accountants, tax consultants, and other professionals.
- Ensure financial and statutory documents are properly maintained and readily available.
- Assist with income tax/TDS-related accounting and compliance activities as applicable.

General Responsibilities

- Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records.
- Organize and maintain financial documents in both physical and digital formats.
- Support the finance team and management in accounting-related activities.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and resolve them promptly.
- Ensure all accounting work is completed within the required deadlines.
- Perform other accounting and finance-related duties assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong practical knowledge of GST and GST compliance.
- Good knowledge of Indian accounting practices.
- Experience in bookkeeping, reconciliations, invoicing, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of TDS and other statutory compliances will be an advantage.
- Experience working with accounting software/ERP systems.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Skills

- Strong knowledge of GST return filing and GST reconciliation.
- Practical experience in Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliation and GSTR-2B reconciliation.
- Good understanding of CGST, SGST and IGST.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple accounting activities and deadlines.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Experience Requirements Essential: Minimum 3 years of professional accounting experience.

Solid hands-on experience in GST-related accounting and compliance.

Preferred: Experience in a company/group of companies environment.

- Experience handling multiple ledgers/entities.
- Experience coordinating with Chartered Accountants, auditors, and tax consultants.
- Experience with ERP/accounting software and advanced Excel.

Key Performance Areas The selected candidate will be expected to ensure:

- Accurate and timely maintenance of books of accounts.
- Timely completion of GST compliance and reconciliations.
- Proper documentation of financial and statutory records.
- Accurate bank, customer, and supplier reconciliations.
- Timely preparation of accounting reports.
- Reduction and resolution of accounting discrepancies.
- Compliance with applicable statutory requirements.
- Effective coordination with auditors and tax consultants.

Ideal Candidate Profile We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant who has strong practical knowledge of accounting and, particularly, GST compliance and reconciliation.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable handling day-to-day accounting independently, reviewing financial transactions, identifying discrepancies, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring GST-related activities are completed accurately and on time.

Candidates who have hands-on experience in GST return filing, GSTR-2B reconciliation, ITC reconciliation, GST accounting, and handling GST-related queries/notices will be preferred.
