About SpatialGrid
SpatialGrid Computing is an immersive spatial intelligence platform and company developing enterprise solutions across Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), Simulators, simulation, digital twins, GIS and spatial computing. We work on complex, real-world applications across sectors including Defence, Aerospace, Railways, Mining, Energy, Infrastructure, Industrial Training and Education. We are looking for a Unity Developer with exceptionally strong fundamentals in Unity and C# who is comfortable building applications independently and working on technically challenging simulation and immersive technology projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Unity-based VR, AR, MR, simulation and interactive 3D applications.
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable and production-ready C# code.
- Develop application architecture, gameplay/simulation logic, interaction systems, UI systems and reusable components.
- Integrate VR/MR hardware, controllers, tracking systems and other peripherals with Unity applications.
- Work with 3D artists, UI/UX designers, QA engineers and other developers to deliver complete applications.
- Optimize applications for performance, memory, rendering and hardware constraints.
- Debug and troubleshoot complex Unity and C# issues independently.
- Develop applications that may operate in offline, restricted-network or air-gapped environments.
- Participate in customer demonstrations, testing, deployment and commissioning at client locations.
- Work closely with customers and domain experts to translate real-world procedures and requirements into interactive simulations.
- Maintain proper technical documentation and follow internal development standards.
Mandatory Technical Skills
Candidates should have strong fundamentals rather than being dependent on online resources or AI tools for basic development tasks.
- 1–5 years of professional Unity development experience.
- Excellent understanding of C# and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Must be capable of writing, debugging and explaining C# code independently without relying on internet access, AI assistants or online code references for fundamental programming tasks.
- Strong understanding of:
- Classes, interfaces and inheritance
- Collections and data structures
- Delegates and events
- Coroutines
- Generics
- Exception handling
- SOLID principles and design patterns
- Unity lifecycle and component architecture
- Strong knowledge of Unity GameObjects, Prefabs, Scenes, Physics, Animation, UI and Input Systems.
- Understanding of 3D mathematics, including vectors, rotations, transforms and coordinate systems.
- Experience with performance profiling and optimization.
- Strong debugging and logical problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working with Git/version-control workflows.
Experience with VR/AR/MR, OpenXR, Meta Quest, simulation systems, networking/multi-user environments, shaders or hardware integrations will be an advantage.
What We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in developers who:
- Have strong programming fundamentals rather than dependence on tools.
- Can understand an unfamiliar codebase and solve problems independently.
- Are comfortable taking ownership of modules from development through deployment.
- Can work effectively under real-world project and customer constraints.
- Are willing to learn new technologies, hardware and domain-specific systems.
- Have a disciplined and professional approach suitable for working with enterprise, government and defence customers.
- Are comfortable with travel and extended in office assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech/BCA/MCA/B.Sc.
Computer Science or equivalent technical qualification.
Candidates with demonstrable Unity/C# expertise and strong project experience may also be considered irrespective of academic specialization.
Selection Process The technical evaluation will place significant emphasis on fundamental programming ability and practical problem-solving.
Candidates should expect
1. C# fundamentals and programming assessment
2. Unity technical assessment
3. Practical coding/problem-solving exercise
4. Technical/project discussion
5. Final interview
The assessment may be conducted without access to the internet or AI coding assistants to evaluate the candidate's core programming and problem-solving capabilities. On-Site & Project Travel
SpatialGrid's primary office is based in Hyderabad, and this will be the developer's regular work location. As we work with clients across defence, government, industrial and enterprise sectors, certain projects may provide opportunities to work directly at customer and project locations across India. Depending on the project, this could include short-term or extended on-site assignments, particularly in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
The duration and frequency of such assignments will vary based on project requirements and will be communicated and planned with the team in advance wherever possible.
Some Defence and government facilities operate within secure or restricted environments, which may include limitations on internet connectivity and personal electronic devices. These assignments offer developers the opportunity to work closely with specialized systems, simulation technologies and real-world operational environments that are not typically accessible in conventional software development roles.
We are looking for candidates who are open to reasonable travel and on-site assignments when projects require it. Specific travel, duration and deployment expectations can be discussed during the interview process to ensure alignment on both sides.
