JOB PURPOSE The Unit Mechanical Maintenance Incharge will be responsible for leading and managing overall mechanical maintenance activities of the manufacturing unit. The role will ensure maximum equipment availability, preventive and predictive maintenance, quick breakdown resolution, reduced downtime, safe operations, cost control and continuous improvement across critical production and utility equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance strategies for the manufacturing unit.

Lead mechanical maintenance activities for production equipment, facilities and infrastructure.

Ensure timely execution of planned maintenance schedules and minimize unplanned downtime.

Responsible for maintenance of power presses, die-casting machines, molding machines and machine-shop equipment.

Handle maintenance of paint-shop, electroplating, welding and heat-treatment machinery.

Ensure overall mechanical maintenance of machines and maintain high equipment availability and reliability.

Analyze repeated machine failures and implement effective root-cause and corrective actions.

Improve MTBF, reduce MTTR and drive continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance performance.

Plan and control maintenance manpower, spares, consumables and maintenance-related expenditure.

Maintain proper maintenance records, reports, schedules and equipment history.

Coordinate with Production, Quality, Stores, Projects and other departments to ensure smooth plant operations.

Ensure compliance with established maintenance standards,



safety procedures and company policies.

Support implementation and maintenance of systems and processes in line with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

Use SAP (HANA) for maintenance-related planning, documentation, material/spares management and reporting.

Identify training requirements and develop the technical capabilities of maintenance team members.

Provide leadership, mentoring and performance feedback to maintenance engineers, technicians and executives.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Strong hands-on knowledge of mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with power presses, die-casting, molding, machining, welding, painting, electroplating and heat-treatment equipment.

Good understanding of preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance practices.

Knowledge of root-cause analysis, failure analysis, MTBF, MTTR and downtime reduction.

Sound working knowledge of SAP HANA is mandatory.

Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 systems and maintenance documentation.

Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, spare-parts management and maintenance cost control.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

Lead, motivate and develop the mechanical maintenance team.

Manage team performance, training, skill development and manpower deployment.

Guide team members in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and technical best practices.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Candidates should have strong mechanical maintenance experience in an engineering/manufacturing plant, with hands-on exposure to the above-mentioned production processes and machinery. Candidates with solid team-management, SAP HANA and ISO 9001:2015 exposure will be preferred.
