Job Overview
The Bunker Surveyor is responsible for conducting inspections and surveys on bunker fuel, lubricants, and other petroleum products to ensure compliance with established quality and quantity standards. The Surveyor should have knowledge of relevant regulations, international standards, and industry best practices. The Surveyor also needs to possess excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting bunker surveys and inspections on board ships and terminals to ensure that the quantity and quality of fuel meet the required specifications.
- Sampling and testing fuel, lubricants, and other petroleum products to verify compliance with industry standards.
- Preparing accurate reports and documentation, including quantity and quality certificates, inspection reports, and other relevant records.
- Communicating effectively with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure that they are informed of survey results and recommendations.
- Keeping abreast of relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices to ensure compliance with relevant guidelines.
- Managing and maintaining survey equipment, tools,
and records to ensure that they are in good working condition.
- Ensuring that all survey activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in marine engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certification such as an ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certificate or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in bunker surveying, preferably in the maritime industry.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry standards such as MARPOL, ISO 8217, ASTM, and API.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, under pressure, and in a rapid-paced environment.
- Proficiency in the use of survey equipment and software tools such as MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
