Our diverse team of experts collaborates to deliver impactful solutions that empower industries and communities, fostering a connected world where information flows seamlessly and securely.
About The Role We are seeking a high-caliber Staff Engineer specializing in Embedded Software to join our dynamic team based in Bangalore. This senior technical role involves leading the design, development, and architecture of firmware for next-generation Smart RF Amplifiers, Nodes, and Remote Telemetry Modules, including FDX/DOCSIS 4.0 cable access and IoT edge nodes.
As a key member of our engineering team, you will take ownership of ARM-based MCU/MPU firmware development, working at both bare-metal and RTOS levels. Your expertise will be instrumental in bridging software engineering with RF hardware design, implementing low-level drivers, and leading complex hardware bring-up processes. You will collaborate closely with our US-based hardware, RF, and firmware teams to bring innovative hardware platforms to life, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability in our products.
This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of wireless communication technology and IoT connectivity through hands-on technical leadership and innovative problem-solving.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated competencies in embedded software engineering, with strong physical, mental, and interpersonal skills.
- Educational background with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Preferably 8+ years of embedded software development experience, with a proven track record as a technical lead or Staff Engineer.
- Deep expertise in ARM Cortex architecture, including assembly language, registers, linker scripts, and memory management.
- Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages, with extensive experience working on RTOS (such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX) and bare-metal firmware architectures.
- Practical knowledge of RF hardware components, including attenuators, equalizers, power amplifiers, and implementation of AGC algorithms.
- Hands-on experience with LoRaWAN protocol stacks, managing sub-GHz wireless transceivers, and integrating wireless connectivity solutions.
- Ability to read schematics, interpret component datasheets, and utilize hardware debugging tools such as Keil, GDB, JTAG/SWD, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
- Strong collaboration skills, with experience working effectively with cross-functional teams across different geographies, especially US-based hardware, RF, and firmware engineers.
Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and optimize low-level firmware for ARM Cortex-M and Cortex-A microcontrollers and microprocessors operating on RTOS or bare-metal environments.
- Develop and fine-tune RF control and signal processing algorithms, including AGC, ALC, tilt compensation, and digital equalizers, to enhance RF performance.
- Collaborate closely with hardware and RF design teams, interpreting schematics and guiding pinouts, power management, and peripheral routing.
- Develop robust,
efficient drivers over I2C, SPI, UART, and GPIO interfaces to control RF chips, sensors, and power management components.
- Design, integrate, and maintain LoRaWAN stacks and application layers for remote monitoring and field telemetry applications.
- Lead initial board bring-up on custom prototype PCBs, conducting hardware/software co-debugging using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
- Architect system memory maps, optimize code for performance and memory usage, and ensure deterministic real-time operation.
- Implement and maintain development workflows using version control systems like Git and project management tools such as Jira, ensuring high software quality and team collaboration.
