Role Description The Sr. VFX Compositor is a full-time, on-site role based in Kochi, responsible for assembling and integrating CG elements, live-action plates, matte paintings, and effects into polished, final shots. This role involves collaborating closely with supervisors, CG and FX artists, and the production team to interpret creative briefs, maintain visual continuity, and achieve the desired look and narrative impact.

Day-to-day tasks include compositing complex multi-layer shots, color matching and grading, refining integration and realism, troubleshooting technical issues, and optimizing workflows for efficiency. The Sr. VFX Compositor also mentors junior compositors, reviews work in progress, provides constructive feedback, and contributes to pipeline improvements to support high-quality,



on-schedule deliveries.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in high-end compositing software (e.g., Nuke, Fusion, After Effects) and solid understanding of multi-pass compositing workflows.
- Demonstrated skills in color correction and grading, keying, rotoscoping, tracking, and integration of CG elements into live-action plates.
- Knowledge of 3D and VFX pipelines, including collaboration with modeling, lighting, FX, and rendering teams, and familiarity with common file formats and delivery standards.
- Ability to interpret storyboards and shot briefs, maintain continuity across sequences, and apply artistic judgment to achieve realistic and stylized visual outcomes.
- Experience leading or mentoring compositing teams, providing feedback, and working within production schedules and deadlines.
- Solid problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative studio environment.
- Relevant professional experience as a compositor in VFX or animation; senior-level experience on film, series, or high-end commercial projects is strongly preferred.
- Beneficial qualifications include a degree or diploma in Animation, VFX, Media Arts, or a related field, and familiarity with scripting or automation tools to improve compositing workflows.
