ABOUT THE ROLE

Maya Marine & Logistics Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a Software Developer to develop, maintain, enhance and support the company's internal web-based business applications and ERP systems.

The role will involve working closely with various departments such as HR, Operations, Shipyard, Accounts, Marine Operations and Administration to understand business requirements and convert them into reliable, user-friendly software solutions.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience in web application development, preferably using Laravel/PHP, along with good knowledge of databases, APIs, debugging, testing and software development practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Business Application & ERP Development

- Develop, maintain and enhance internal web-based business applications and ERP modules.
- Understand business requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
- Develop new screens, forms, workflows, approval processes, dashboards and reports.
- Implement user roles, permissions and access controls.
- Modify existing modules based on approved business requirements.
- Identify and resolve bugs and technical issues.
- Ensure all changes are properly tested before deployment.
- Maintain documentation of software changes and releases.

1. Backend Development

- Develop and maintain backend functionality using PHP/Laravel.
- Develop APIs and implement business logic.
- Work with relational databases and perform database queries and updates.
- Optimize application performance and troubleshoot backend issues.
- Write clean, structured and maintainable code.

1. Frontend Development

- Develop responsive and user-friendly web interfaces.
- Work with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Convert business and functional requirements into practical user interfaces.
- Develop forms, dashboards, reports and other application interfaces.
- Ensure applications function properly across commonly used browsers.





1. Database Management

- Work with MySQL/MariaDB or similar relational databases.
- Create and modify tables, relationships and queries as required.
- Maintain data integrity and troubleshoot database-related issues.
- Support database updates and data migration when required.

1. Requirements & Department Coordination

- Coordinate with internal departments to understand software requirements.
- Participate in discussions with HR, Accounts, Operations, Shipyard and other teams.
- Understand existing business processes and identify opportunities for system improvements.
- Provide technical feasibility and development estimates for requested changes.
- Convert requirements into transparent technical specifications and development tasks.

1. Testing & Deployment

- Perform unit and functional testing of developed features.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Identify and resolve issues reported during testing.
- Deploy approved changes and verify functionality after deployment.
- Maintain proper version and change records.

1. Application Maintenance & Support

- Troubleshoot application errors, bugs and performance issues.
- Investigate recurring technical problems and implement appropriate solutions.
- Provide technical support for software-related issues.
- Monitor application functionality and system performance.
- Coordinate with the IT team for application security, backups and availability.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS : PHP, Laravel, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL

GOOD TO HAVE

- Experience developing or maintaining ERP or business management applications.
- Experience working with Laravel-based applications.
- Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks/libraries.
- Experience with third-party API integrations.
- Knowledge of authentication and role-based access control.




- Basic understanding of cloud hosting and server environments.
- Basic knowledge of Linux/server administration.
- Experience with Git-based development workflows.
- Exposure to marine, shipyard, port, logistics or manufacturing industries.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Qualification:

- B.E. / B.Tech / BCA / MCA / B.Sc IT / M.Sc IT or equivalent.

Experience:

- 1–3 years of relevant experience in software/web application development.
- Candidates with strong practical project experience in Laravel/PHP may also be considered.
