About the Role

Xtrawrkx is hiring for one of our clients, BikeWo Green Tech Limited, for the position of Site In-Charge – Electric Tractor Operations.

BikeWo Green Tech Limited is looking for a Site In-Charge to manage the day-to-day operations of electric tractors deployed at CBG project sites.

This is a hands-on field role for someone with experience in commercial vehicles, fleet operations, automobile/equipment maintenance, or EVs. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring vehicle uptime, preventive maintenance, driver management, basic troubleshooting, safety compliance, and smooth coordination with the client and BikeWo’s central operations team.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet & Site Operations

- Manage daily operations of electric tractors at the assigned site.
- Ensure maximum vehicle availability and operational uptime.
- Monitor vehicle deployment, trips, operating hours, and utilization.
- Coordinate with drivers/operators and allocate vehicles as per requirements.
- Maintain daily fleet and site operating records.

Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance

- Conduct daily/weekly inspections of electric tractors.
- Check tyres, brakes, steering, suspension, lights, charging systems, electrical connections, and other critical components.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and timely servicing.
- Identify potential issues before they lead to vehicle downtime.
- Maintain vehicle-wise inspection and maintenance records.

Troubleshooting & Minor Repairs

- Diagnose and attend to basic mechanical and electrical issues.
- Perform minor repairs, adjustments, and component replacements wherever possible.
- Troubleshoot brakes, tyres, wiring, connectors, lights, cooling systems, and mechanical assemblies.
- Perform basic EV diagnostics related to battery, motor, controller, and charging systems.




- Escalate major technical issues to the BikeWo technical team/OEM service team.

Driver & Manpower Management

- Supervise drivers/operators deployed at the site.
- Manage attendance, shift allocation, and discipline.
- Conduct daily safety and vehicle-use briefings.
- Ensure compliance with operating procedures and authorized vehicle usage.
- Report manpower and operational issues to management.

Client Coordination

- Act as the primary BikeWo representative for day-to-day site operations.
- Coordinate with client/site representatives regarding vehicle requirements and operations.
- Resolve routine operational issues and escalate critical matters to the BikeWo Project/Operations Manager.
- Maintain qualified relationships with client personnel.

Safety & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with BikeWo and client site safety procedures.
- Conduct daily vehicle safety checks.
- Ensure vehicles are operated only by authorized and trained drivers.
- Report accidents, breakdowns, near misses, and safety incidents immediately.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to site safety protocols.

Reporting & MIS

Prepare regular reports covering:

- Vehicle availability and uptime
- Vehicle utilization, trips, and operating hours
- Breakdown and downtime
- Preventive maintenance and repairs
- Spare parts consumption
- Driver attendance
- Charging/energy consumption
- Safety incidents and accidents




- Pending technical issues and client requirements

- Fleet uptime: 90%+
- Breakdown response and resolution time
- Preventive maintenance compliance
- Vehicle availability during scheduled operating hours

Education

- Diploma in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering – Preferred
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering – Preferred

Experience

- 2–5 years of experience in fleet operations, commercial vehicles, automobiles, EVs, equipment maintenance, or similar field operations.
- Experience with electric commercial vehicles, electric tractors, or heavy vehicles will be an advantage.
- Experience at industrial, logistics, infrastructure, CBG, transportation, or similar project sites is preferred.

Technical Skills

- Basic mechanical troubleshooting and vehicle maintenance
- Knowledge of brakes, tyres, suspension, and steering systems

What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, and comfortable working at a project site. You should be able to inspect an electric tractor, identify the likely cause of a breakdown, perform basic repairs, manage drivers, and coordinate with the client and technical teams.

Candidates with commercial/heavy vehicle maintenance experience along with basic EV knowledge will be particularly suitable.
