Job Responsibilities:

- To independently manage and supervise shift operations of the LABSA 96% manufacturing plant, ensuring safe, stable, efficient and continuous production while maintaining product quality, production targets and compliance with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day shift production operations of the LABSA 96% plant.
- Monitor and control the complete sulphonation process, including:
- - SO₃ generation and supply
- Sulphonation reactor/system
- Air/SO₃ ratio and process parameters
- LAB feed and acid gas conditions
- Digestion/aging and stabilization
- Neutralization, where applicable
- Product transfer and storage

- Ensure production is carried out as per approved SOPs, process parameters and quality specifications.
- Monitor critical operating parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow, concentration, acidity and product quality.
- Ensure achievement of daily/monthly production targets with minimum process loss and downtime.
- Supervise shift operators, technicians and contract manpower and allocate duties effectively.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality Control, Utility, EHS and Stores departments for smooth plant operation.
- Identify abnormal process conditions and take immediate corrective action within defined operating procedures.
- Handle plant start-up, shutdown, changeover and emergency operating conditions safely.
- Maintain proper shift logbooks, production reports, process records and batch/production documentation.
- Monitor raw material consumption and minimize wastage of LAB, sulphur/SO₃, air and other process materials.
- Ensure proper operation and monitoring of pumps, blowers, heat exchangers, reactors,



scrubbers and associated equipment.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team for breakdowns and planned maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S standards throughout the production area.
- Ensure strict compliance with EHS, PPE, permit-to-work, LOTO and chemical handling procedures.
- Immediately report leaks, equipment abnormalities, process deviations, unsafe conditions and incidents to the concerned authority.
- Coordinate with QC to ensure LABSA 96% meets specified quality parameters before dispatch/transfer.
- Participate in root-cause analysis, troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.
- Train and guide operators regarding SOPs, safe chemical handling and process discipline.
- Ensure proper handover/takeover between shifts with clear communication of plant status, abnormalities and pending jobs.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of LABSA 96% / Linear Alkylbenzene Sulphonic Acid manufacturing process
- Practical knowledge of SO₃ sulphonation technology
- Positive understanding of chemical-process equipment and instrumentation
- Ability to troubleshoot process abnormalities independently
- Strong knowledge of chemical plant safety and emergency procedures
- Leadership and manpower-handling skills
- Leadership and manpower-handling skills
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and production reporting
- Ability to work in rotational shifts

Preferred Experience Candidates with hands-on experience in LABSA/Sulphonation plants, particularly those handling SO₃-based continuous sulphonation systems, will be preferred.
