Senior Software Test Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Test Engineer to drive quality across our web-based products and platform capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in manual testing, test strategy, defect management, and Agile delivery practices, along with a solid understanding of networking concepts.

The candidate will work closely with Engineering, Product Management, and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality releases by proactively identifying risks, validating requirements, and executing comprehensive test coverage.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Execution

- Analyze product requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to define comprehensive test strategies.
- Design, develop, and execute test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
- Perform functional, integration, system, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end testing of web applications.
- Validate application behavior across browsers, operating systems, and device configurations.
- Ensure complete traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.

Automation & Continuous Testing

- Support and expand automation coverage using established automation frameworks.
- Identify candidates for automation and improve regression testing efficiency.
- Collaborate with automation engineers to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Performance & Reliability Validation

- Validate application performance, responsiveness, and scalability.
- Assist in performance and load testing activities.
- Monitor quality metrics and provide release readiness assessments.

Domain & System Validation

- Validate workflows involving networking and connectivity features.
- Analyze logs, API responses, and system behavior to troubleshoot issues.
- Work with distributed systems and backend services to identify integration issues.

Reporting & Documentation

- Document test results, defects, risks, and release quality metrics.




- Provide clear and concise status updates to stakeholders.
- Maintain testing artifacts and ensure quality documentation is up to date.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Web Application Testing or Software Quality Assurance.
- Strong expertise in manual testing methodologies and defect lifecycle management.
- Experience testing modern web applications and REST APIs.
- Good understanding of:
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Browser Developer Tools
- Client-server architecture
- SQL and database validation
- Experience with defect and test management tools such as:
- JIRA
- Azure DevOps
- TestRail
- Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Robust analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Qualifications

- Exposure to test automation using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
- Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration.
- Understanding of Linux environments and command-line tools.
- Good knowledge of networking fundamentals:
- TCP/IP
- HTTP/HTTPS
- DNS
- VPN
- Wireless networking concepts
- Knowledge of satellite communications and wireless technologies:
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
- Knowledge of security testing concepts and best practices.
