About Us

Kingston Educational Institute is a charitable education society (12A & 80G) founded in 2004. From our 28-acre campus in Barasat we run colleges of law, engineering & management, science, management & science and teacher education, a polytechnic, a school, a skill-development vertical, and Kingston General Hospital, a 110-bed multispecialty hospital.

The Role

We are building one disciplined group finance function across all our institutions and the hospital. You will be the single point of accountability for clean books, on-time compliance and a healthy cash position. You will report directly to the President.

What You Will Do

Compliance

- Own the group compliance calendar: GST, TDS/TCS, PF, ESI and West Bengal Professional Tax
- Handle income-tax compliance for a charitable society: Sections 11–13, Form 10B/10BB, Form 10BD, ITR-7
- Coordinate statutory, internal and tax audits and close audit observations on time
- Prepare utilisation certificates for government and CSR-funded skilling projects

Accounts Receivable

- Run fee collection, concessions, refunds and daily bank reconciliation across institutions
- Manage hospital receivables from TPAs, insurers and government health schemes
- Track grant, scholarship and CSR receivables, and keep receivables ageing up to date

Accounts Payable

- Pay vendors only after matching the purchase order, the goods or service receipt and the invoice
- Run a fixed weekly payment cycle under an approved authority matrix




- Reconcile vendor ledgers and ensure correct TDS deduction and GST input credit

SOPs & Internal Controls
- Write and implement the group Finance SOP manual
- Define the chart of accounts and cost centres for each institution, project and the hospital
- Put in place maker-checker controls, delegation of authority and segregation of duties

MIS & Budgeting
- Close the books monthly and issue MIS for each institution by the 7th working day
- Prepare annual budgets and report budget-versus-actual variances
- Track cost per student, contribution by institution and hospital revenue metrics

Cash Flow & Treasury
- Maintain a rolling 13-week cash-flow forecast and an annual cash plan
- Manage banking relationships, fixed deposits and investment of surplus funds within policy
- Evaluate capital expenditure and expansion proposals

Team Leadership

- Lead the accounts teams at every institution and the hospital

What We Are Looking For

- CA / CMA - Intermediate (mandatory); MBA (Finance) is a plus
- 10–15 years in accounts and finance, at least 4 of them leading a team
- Experience in a multi-unit organisation; education, healthcare or non-profit background strongly preferred
- Strong command of GST, TDS, payroll statutory laws and trust/society taxation
- Advanced skills in Tally Prime (or a similar ERP) and Excel
- High integrity, process discipline and the ability to work with academic heads, doctors, auditors and bankers
- Working knowledge of Bengali preferred
