Role: Senior Java Engineer

Position Type: Full time Contract (40hrs/week)

Contract Duration: 6+ months (with a possibility of Contract to Hire)

Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)

Location: Hybrid - Pune, India

We are seeking a Senior Java Engineer with 6+ years of hands-on experience building enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and messaging technologies such as Kafka . The role requires strong expertise in concurrency, JVM/memory management, system design, production troubleshooting, databases, caching, and high-performance distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and deploy scalable Java/Spring Boot microservices .
- Build asynchronous and event-driven solutions using Kafka or enterprise messaging platforms .
- Apply data structures, algorithms, design patterns, concurrency, and JVM optimization to solve complex technical problems.
- Troubleshoot production issues involving application failures, latency, memory, performance, messaging, and database layers.
- Perform root-cause analysis using AppDynamics, ELK, and application logs/monitoring .
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases, SQL, indexing, transactions, and query optimization.




- Implement caching using Redis, Ehcache, or similar technologies .
- Contribute to system architecture, reusable design patterns, APIs, integrations, and CI/CD.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.

Must-Haves
- 6+ years hands-on Java development.
- Strong Core Java 8+ , including multithreading, concurrency, collections, JVM, garbage collection, and memory/performance tuning.
- Strong Spring Boot + microservices experience.
- Strong Kafka or enterprise messaging and event-driven architecture.
- Strong system design and scalable architecture knowledge.
- Production troubleshooting and RCA experience.
- Relational + NoSQL databases, SQL, indexing, transactions, and query optimization.
- Git + Jenkins/CI/CD .
- Docker + Kubernetes .
- Redis, Ehcache, or similar caching technologies .

Nice-to-Haves
- Spring WebFlux / Project Reactor / RxJava .
- Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) .
- AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT .
- Unit/integration testing and test automation.
- AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Retail, order management, or e-commerce experience.
