futuredoctor Group is an international education and services group focused primarily on medical students and future healthcare professionals. Through multiple brands and business units, we operate across several countries and support students throughout different stages of their education and careers.

As we continue to expand internationally, we are looking for a Senior Financial Controller to strengthen our group-wide financial controlling, reporting, and management information framework.

About the Role:

This is a hands-on, commercially focused finance role with direct exposure to the founders and senior management.

The Senior Financial Controller will be responsible for establishing financial transparency across multiple entities and business units, strengthening management reporting, monitoring financial performance, controlling costs, and coordinating financial information across international operations.

This is not a bookkeeping-focused position. Local accountants and tax advisors will continue to manage statutory accounting, tax filings, and local compliance. The Senior Financial Controller will consolidate, analyse, validate, and challenge financial information to provide management with reliable and actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Controlling & Management Reporting

- Develop and maintain monthly financial reporting across group entities.
- Prepare consolidated management P&Ls; and entity/business-unit level P&Ls.;
- Analyse revenue, costs, margins, and profitability.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
- Investigate material variances and unusual financial developments.
- Develop financial KPIs, dashboards, and management reporting frameworks.

Cost & Expense Controlling

- Review significant expenses, vendor invoices, and supporting documentation.
- Validate invoices against contracts, quotations, and agreed commercial terms.
- Identify duplicate, incorrect, unsupported, or unusual charges.
- Monitor recurring expenses and cost trends.
- Support vendor and cost benchmarking.
- Strengthen financial approval and expense-control processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency.

Destination-Level Financial Controlling

- Prepare profitability reports by destination for the travel4med business.




- Monitor revenue, direct costs, accommodation, transportation, hospital, placement, staffing, and service-provider expenses.
- Review vendor invoices and supporting documentation.
- Monitor advances to local partners.
- Calculate cost per student, cost per student night, and gross margin by destination.
- Analyse actual costs against budgets and agreed supplier pricing.
- Investigate material cost deviations and identify improvement opportunities.

Budgeting & Forecasting

- Support and coordinate the annual budgeting process.
- Prepare rolling forecasts and budget-versus-actual analysis.
- Develop and maintain cash-flow forecasts.
- Support financial scenario planning and liquidity management.
- Work with business-unit leaders to monitor and manage budgets.

Intercompany Controlling

- Maintain a comprehensive intercompany matrix across group entities.
- Reconcile intercompany receivables and payables on a monthly basis.
- Identify and resolve mismatches between entities.
- Coordinate necessary accounting adjustments with local finance teams.
- Monitor intercompany invoices and payments.
- Maintain appropriate supporting documentation.

Cash & Working Capital Management

- Maintain visibility of cash positions across group entities.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
- Identify overdue receivables and significant upcoming payments.
- Monitor vendor advances and outstanding balances.
- Prepare short-term cash-flow forecasts.
- Improve overall working-capital visibility.

Month-End Closing & Group Reporting

- Establish and coordinate a structured monthly financial closing process.
- Collect and review financial information from multiple entities.
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of reported information.
- Investigate discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions.
- Prepare a standardised monthly Group Management Pack covering:
- Group P&L;
- Entity and business-unit P&Ls;
- Budget vs. Actuals
- Cash position and cash-flow forecast
- Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Intercompany balances




- Key financial KPIs
- Material cost deviations
- Financial risks and management action items

Required:

- 5–8 years of relevant professional experience in financial controlling, FP&A;, management reporting, corporate finance, or a related function.
- Strong understanding of P&L;, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience reviewing accounting records and financial transactions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong ownership and ability to work independently.
- Ability to critically evaluate financial information and challenge discrepancies.
- Willingness to work full time from our Gurugram office.

Preferred:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional finance qualification.
- Experience working within an international or multi-entity organisation.
- Experience with Big Four, BDO, Grant Thornton, RSM, or similar professional-services firms.
- Experience with intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
- Experience with financial consolidation and group reporting.
- Exposure to IFRS or European accounting environments.
- Experience with ERP systems; Odoo experience is an advantage.
- Experience with Power BI / Power Query.
- Experience in a high-growth, startup, or scale-up environment.

We are looking for a hands-on, analytical, and commercially minded finance professional who goes beyond simply reconciling numbers. You should be comfortable investigating financial variances, evaluating commercial decisions, identifying cost-control opportunities, questioning inconsistencies, and translating financial data into clear recommendations for management.

This role is designed to grow with the organisation. Based on performance, ownership, and demonstrated leadership capability, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress into a Head of Group Finance & Controlling role with broader responsibility for the group’s international finance function.

The Senior Financial Controller will report directly to the Founders / Group Management and work closely with business-unit leaders, accounting teams, and external tax and finance advisors across multiple countries.
