Job Title: Senior .NET Developer – Kafka

Experience: 6–8 Years

Location: Noida/gurgaon

Work Mode: Hybrid / Remote / As per project requirement

Employment Type: Full-Time

Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced .NET Developer with strong Kafka expertise to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications using the Microsoft .NET ecosystem, along with practical experience implementing Apache Kafka for event-driven and distributed systems.

The candidate should have a robust understanding of C#, .NET Core/.NET 6+, ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, microservices, SQL Server, and Kafka. Experience with cloud platforms, containerization, CI/CD, and distributed systems will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications using C# and .NET Core/.NET 6+.
- Develop high-performance and secure RESTful APIs and microservices using ASP.NET Core.
- Design and implement event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
- Develop Kafka producers and consumers and manage event-based communication between microservices.
- Configure and work with Kafka topics, partitions, consumer groups, offsets, replication, and retention policies.
- Implement reliable message-processing mechanisms, including error handling, retries, and dead-letter topics.
- Develop reusable and maintainable application components following clean coding principles.
- Work with SQL Server and write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database operations.
- Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms using JWT, OAuth/OIDC, or similar technologies.
- Design microservices that are scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available.
- Integrate applications with internal and external systems through REST APIs and messaging platforms.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Optimize application, database, and Kafka performance.
- Write unit and integration tests and ensure valuable code coverage.
- Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards.
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and other development teams.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Support application deployments and production releases.
- Prepare technical documentation and maintain API/interface documentation.

Mandatory Technical Skills.NET / C#
- Strong hands-on experience with C#.
- Strong experience with .NET Core / .NET 6+ / modern .NET.




- Good knowledge of ASP.NET Core Web API.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and SOLID principles.
- Experience developing scalable and maintainable enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of asynchronous programming using async/await and Tasks.
- Good understanding of dependency injection and middleware.

Kafka
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
- Strong understanding of Kafka producers and consumers.
- Experience working with:
- Topics
- Partitions
- Consumer groups
- Offsets
- Replication
- Retention
- Experience implementing event-driven and asynchronous communication.
- Understanding of Kafka message delivery and processing mechanisms.
- Experience handling failed messages, retries, and Dead Letter Topics/Queues.
- Knowledge of Kafka performance tuning and monitoring.
- Experience with Kafka integration in .NET applications.
- Knowledge of Kafka serialization formats such as JSON, Avro, or Protobuf is desirable.

Microservices & APIs
- Strong experience developing RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience with microservices architecture.
- Understanding of synchronous vs. asynchronous communication.
- Experience with API versioning, validation, exception handling, logging, and monitoring.
- Knowledge of distributed systems and fault-tolerant application design.
- Understanding of design patterns commonly used in microservices.

Database
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Good knowledge of SQL queries, joins, indexes, views, stored procedures, and functions.
- Experience with database performance optimization.
- Understanding of Entity Framework Core / EF Core.
- Knowledge of transaction management and database concurrency.

Security
- Good understanding of application security principles.
- Experience implementing JWT/OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect.
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization.
- Understanding of role-based access control.
- Awareness of secure API development practices.

DevOps / Cloud – Good to Have
- Experience with Azure / AWS or any major cloud platform.
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
- Strong knowledge of Git and branching strategies.




- Experience with application logging and monitoring tools.

Testing
- Experience writing unit tests using frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest.
- Knowledge of mocking frameworks such as Moq.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or Swagger.
- Understanding of integration and end-to-end testing.

Design & ArchitectureThe candidate should have a good understanding of:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong experience in enterprise application development using .NET.
- Proven hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Positive communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Preferred ProfileThe ideal candidate should have:
- Strong C# + .NET Core + Web API development experience.
- Hands-on Kafka producer/consumer development experience.
- Experience building Kafka-based microservices.
- Solid SQL Server knowledge.
- Good understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
- Exposure to Azure/AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
