- Duties
- Contract Preparation &
- Administration:
Draft, review, and finalize project contracts, work orders, vendor agreements, and subcontract documents. [1, 2]
- Tendering &
- Procurement Support:
Manage the bidding process, evaluate contractor/vendor bids, participate in commercial negotiations, and assist in award processes. [1, 2]
- Billing &
- Cost Control:
Review and verify subcontractor bills, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), rate analysis, RA bills, and milestone payment certifications. [1, 2]
- Claims &
- Variation Management:
Identify, document, and evaluate contractual variations, extensions of time (EOT), and delay analyses to submit or defend claims. [1, 2, 3]
- Risk Mitigation &
- Compliance:
Monitor ongoing contract compliance with statutory regulations and company policies, identifying commercial and legal risks early. [1, 2]
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Procurement, Finance, Legal, and Quantum Surveying (QS) teams. [1, 2]
- Documentation &
- Reporting:
Maintain contemporaneous project records, handle contractual correspondence, and generate MIS reports for management. [1, 2, 3]
Qualifications &
- Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (a postgraduate degree in Construction Law or Project Management is a plus). [1]
- Experience: 3 to 10 years of relevant experience in contract administration, commercial management, or quantity surveying within the real estate, infrastructure, or construction sector. [1, 2]
- Knowledge &
- Standards:
Familiarity with standard industry contract conditions and frameworks like FIDIC, NEC, or JCT. [1, 2, 3]
- Key Skills:
- Strong expertise in BOQ, billing, and rate analysis
- Excellent negotiation and dispute resolution skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP software, and scheduling tools like MS Project or Primavera [1, 2, 3, 4]
